hdmi gauge question

What is the difference in the gauge of hdmi cable? I only need 6ft would a 28g wire be sufficiant or would a 24g be better? the 28g has ferrite cores on it and the others dont, whys that? Also would i have a problem with having the ferrite cores on the wires and plugging in the cable while hung on the wall. I dont know how they bend with the cores there. Thanks
