where to place my HD-DVD

Upstairs I have a 40 inch 720p LCD with Bose 2.1 audio. Downstairs I have a 40 inch rp 720p with DVI input. The surround sound system is great down there. I will be getting an A3 for christmas and I'm torn on where to put this darn thing. I'm thinking better picture..maybe on LCD but no surround. Equal to lesser pic quality downstairs but MUCH better audio. Can anyone testify on the picture quality of a five year RP with DVI input using an HD-DVD? I want that picture that my LCD provides but I cannot put a surround system up there because of space and decoration purposes. Also my Kenwood receiver does not decode the new audio of HD discs just regular DD and DTS.
Decisions, Decisions. I will probably try both when I find time but if I can get some positive feedback on 1 of the 2 tv's and audio choices that would be great!

thanks

Re: where to place my HD-DVD

Look at it in a different way. Where are you most likely to get absorbed in watching the movie? Calibrate that display, and be done with it. Or you could try the player on both displays and see which one has the prettier picture. The CRT could well have better black levels, for instance.
