Well I recently bought a new 47" lcd hdtv and i often use my laptop with my old tv to play downloaded tv shows, movies, trailers, etc.... But based on the new resolution that this tv is capable of my old laptop wasn't cutting it. so i figured why not upgrade as the laptop as it was 5 years old anyway. it was holding up because it was top of the line when i bought it but it was time for a new top of the line.

Presenting my new Toshiba X205-SLi1

The Satellite® X205 is action at your fingertips for hard-core gaming in one sleek designed notebook, with eye-popping views from the 17" diagonal WXGA+ or WSXGA+ TruBrite® widescreen display*. Re: My New Toy!!!

yes, u have officially threadjacked me. no biggie...

but to answer your question it is rather large. but most times it is hooked up to the home theater and i am utilizing my mx3200 wireless mouse/keyboard.

if i am mobile it is usually with my company issued laptop. but on the occassion when i take it some where it is not a big deal. and like you most people's first question is 'how much does that thing weigh, its huge!' to which i reply, its only 10 pounds. not heavy at all for a dude my size.....

Re: My New Toy!!!

Actually, I have an electric guitar that weighs 10 lbs and I find it a bit of a PITA to carry around so much weight.

Since your laptop is used in a HT environment, I assume you have it sitting on a shelf somewhere. But have you tried working with it while it was actually resting on your lap?

Re: My New Toy!!!

i actually have used it in a mobile fashion out in the field, on my lap, in the car etc..... but it is no big deal for me.

i am 6 feet tall, 260 lbs., can bench press almost twice my body weight and squat three times my body weight. i am built like a nfl linebacker. my other passion outside of home theater is working out. and i am used to running around airports trying to chase down flights i am late to with a 25 lb. bag on my shoulder.

ten pounds not a big deal..... my work laptop is seven pounds...
