The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Re: Weekly Roundup 11-27-2007

Thanks for the round-up.

Will be picking up The Waitress. That's the best movie my wife and I saw all this year. It did very well in limited theatrical release and I hope it finds its audience on home video. In my opinion, it's hard not to fall in love with this movie. Andy Griffith shines in his supporting role and the leads are all delightful.

Re: Weekly Roundup 11-27-2007

FWIW, I was going to be out anyway, so dropped by the local Best Buy as the doors opened to pick up the 2 disc Pan's Labyrinth. They had all of 1 copy in stock, and it rang up at $24.99. No problem getting the price corrected, but then I noticed the clerk actually tore off the Golden Compass portion for whatever their offer is off the ticket and kept it.

Since I was the second person to even make a purchase in the store today, I doubt they ran out. Me too, Bob...eventually. I probably WON'T need the "every minute of every game" set that will eventually be released...although watching the ALCS comeback again might be fun.

Intrigued by Waitress. I've heard lots of good things about it. But, I'll probably wait to pick it up used at Hollywood Video.

Yup. A pretty weak week indeed.

But maybe Tony Zannikos will have one of his double-features of Bratz and Spice World SE!

Waitress is a fantastic movie and well worth picking up.

I also plan on Hot Rod, I found that to be hilarious and is underrated in the face of somehting like Superbad.

Ah. I didn't have time to explore the entire store in hopes of finding the special set, which is what it always takes to find anything on sale at that place. They were probably on the top shelf above the 65" plasmas facing the back wall with 13 boxes in front of them, if history is any indication of how organized Best Buy usually is. In fact, I got help to find the old 2 disc set, which is what I bought and the clerk who helped me was clearly clueless about another set.

Ah, but it's going to allow you to switch between Tim McCarver and NOT Tim McCarver audio tracks. You'll be able to watch it as if Castiglione (or the Rockies announcers) were calling the game for Fox, without the delay between video and audio. Bliss, I tell ya.

REALLY?!?!

You are talking about the complete games MLB set? And they are going to make the WEEI feed available for the audio track?! I just might need to add that to the list. Do you have a release date, Jason?

You know, not ONCE did McCarver talk about David Ortiz' eyes during the playoffs! I don't think he'll ever live that Jeter comment down!

Per The Boston Globe, December 11th. Although I guess it would be the WRKO feed now.

Well, since it took Castiglione almost the entire season to remember the change to "WRKO" everytime he threw to commercial, I guess I can be forgiven that slip!

Very cool that they are including the highlights disc and just Games #5-7 of the ALCS then all the WS. Honestly, I'd probably never watch #1-4 of the ALCS.
