"Mysterious Cities of Gold" - Nickelodeon classic coming in 2008

I have fond memories of watching this series with my brother everyday after school. This was the first cartoon series I ever say with an over-arching storyline that connected throughout the entire series. It may not hold up well today but I'm excited to see it again!

I vaguely remember watching this on Nickelodeon as a kid, along with "Belle and Sebastian". I liked how both series had ongoing story arcs compared to other cartoons of that time period. Made it really fun to watch.

I NEVER thought I'd see this on DVD and am absolutely delighted! This was a HUGE favorite of mine back in the day on Nickelodeon and to finally have the chance to see it all again is just wonderful!

Cannot wait for the day when I can pick this up!

Man...remember watching this show, like, every single afternoon, especially during the summer of 1986; great, thought-provoking storylines. And it was very different from most everything else you could find for kids at that point -- winged Mayan airships and whatnot were more than enough to guarantee my daily attention.

Also, whoever mentioned Belle and Sebastian above...wish someone would put that show out down the road, too. Another worthwhile Nickelodeon staple for me.

Add to that Spartacus and the Sun Beneath the Sea or David the Gnome and I'm a happy boy!

Very pleased - this and Dungeons and Dragons were the 2 main Kids TV shows of the 80s that I wanted. Whilst I imagine it wont be fully remastered for DVD, I do hope it at least matched the D&D box set

I've talked to the studio, and they seem pretty serious about their remastering effort. Of course, the results will speak for themselves, but that's the early impression I got. Give them a chance, eh!

Lets hope so - what I mean is I am not expecting a Lowry restoration in the same way as the Disney films, but hey, if they want to....

I hope Virgil Films(formerly Arts Alliance) does well with this release. I'm picking the deluxe box up next week.

Well,I finally got through the first disc(I'm making this series last).
Fantastic. Very well written episodes, and a pure 80's synthesizer score that compliments it perfectly. Each episode ends with a little trivia of old world facts, and legends w/ good narration. Kind of reminds me of In Search Of(70's show with Leonard Nimoy) That I love so much.

This is a great show, and I'm glad I splurged and bought the "deluxe" box set.
