There is a "forced cleverness" about this show that grates a little on my nerves, but I've been tuning in regularly and hope it continues to build upon its loaded premise and develop its characters (the leads' supposed affection for one another still seems a little questionable / shallow to me). The cast is great. One concern is that it may not be "hip" enough for prime time network television.

At the end of the road we should get a nice little box set at the very least, as with "Wonderfalls". But of course one hopes the enterprise lasts a little longer than that.

This is the show that just keeps on giving. It's a welcome, fun change of pace from the procedurals and formulaic comedies. Not that I'll give up watching the latter.

TV Guide confirms that Pushing Daisies has been picked up for a full season of 22 episodes.

Amazing. A show I really enjoy isn't immediately cancelled.

Just watched the Pigeon episode
another nice episode

I thought it was great when Olive referenced a They Might be Giants song and then sang that song in the aunts car
I also liked how they shot the jail house cemetery scene from the ground up with the moon in between Chuck and Ned.
The story flowed very nicely, going from one dead body to the next.
My favorite thing is with the narration, how the narrator will say something, then one of the charatcer will say that exact same thing

Next week is their special Halloween episode

My wife and I are both thoroughly entertained by this show, another great episode tonight and I can not wait for the halloween episode.

The narcoleptic woman was a great touch.

Yeah. A couple months ago on another forum, I gave this show three weeks at the outside before it got cancelled, based on the "Sonnenfeld Jinx" of excellent shows that nobody ever watches.

Glad I was finally wrong on this one.

There a lot of elements that make this show really cool. The narrator is one, his voice and pace are like the narrator in the Bullwinkle or Fractured Fairy Tales cartoon.

I hope someone wouldn't mind explaining what happened last week, I had the TV on, but was interrupted by a business call during the whole show! How did Olive figure out that Ned brought Chuck back to life? Or it appears she figured out that Chuck is the niece of the two Aunts when she brought the pie to their house with the homeopathic drops in it? And she only knows she's alive, but not that Ned brought her back?

I did like how Olive at the last minute decided not to reveal Chuck to the aunts.

PS, I saw a repeat of Letterman last night and Sonnenfeld was on talking about Daisies. He commented that he felt it a great compliment that the Pilot looked like a Tim Burton film.

Olive doesn't know what Ned can do. She thinks Chuck faked her death.

Great to see Charlie again. Loved when she simply stood up and the ribbons came undone. The actress needs to land somewhere on a more permanent basis.

I like how they played around with the narrator's usual schtick of giving the exact time of the person's life. That's in danger of getting old, so it was nice when they changed it to, "At that moment, Ned was . . . bored and playing ball by himself." Not the exact phrase, but something like that.

"He was my bunkmate."

"Is that a euphemism for. . . ?"

"Not in this case, ma'am."



"Braden Caden" was kind of pushing the cuteness factor for me. The only false note. Still a great show.

Ah yes... Jayma Mays. From Entourage, Ugly Betty and Heroes
I was very glad to see her in this episode.
I thought she was just perfect for her role as Elsa the windmill woman

That isn't the only thing the narration resembles. Everytime I watch this show I get an overwhelming urge to go shop at Walgreens.

Way to many TV characters with the same/similar names this season. We have the Darling Mermaid Darlings on this show, the Darling family on Dirty Sexy Money and Chuck Darling in Back to You.

The pigeon taking flight was totally fake looking, in a funny way. If that was CGI, and not a bird on a wire, I hope it wasn't expensive

After loving the premier/pilot episode I felt last weeks episode was a little less fairy tale like and a cause for concern. However last night's episode had all the charm of the pilot so now I can rest easy.

Is it just me, or did the show just give us an answer to the question about how it is possible that Ned didn't touch Digby before Ned discovered the consequence of a second touch? The episode seemed to me to suggest that Digby seemed almost instinctively to understand that Ned could never touch him again - which does explain why Digby ran away immediatey after being brought to life - and so he then just had to say out of reach of Ned until Ned discivered the problem for himself.

Loved the appearance of Jayma Mays. She's an actress that has just appeared out of nowhere in the last year of two, and become a favourite of mine. So I was happy to see her name listed as a guest star, and it was a great appearance. I loved her excitement to be tied up by a one-armed man just because it was something to do, her suggestions as he was tying her up, the fact that she had a wooden leg for no reason at all.

I'm also enjoying Olive's relationship with the aunts, and I really liked the handholding scene as an interesting variation on Ned and Chuck's frustration at being unable to touch.

Watched the Halloween Special episode called Girth
I enjoyed it quite a bit.

It was a nice mix of Headless Horseman and I know What You did Last Summer in a sort of way.

There is a nice sight gag. and it takes place in Mrs Jacobs house when Olive, Chuck and Ermerson are sitting on the couch. The ceramic see no monkeys are behind them on the table, where each see no monkey is behind each character.
Emerson has the see no, Chuck has the hear no and Olive has the say no.
I'm assuming Olive has the say no, as she has a secret both about the jockey thing and about Chuck's secret.
I just don't know what the others represent.

My other favorite moments in the episode is when the narrator is describing the four jockeys keeping the secret and the narrator says "Olive protested" and then Olive says in a timid voice, "Noooo" very funny

I also liked the whole scene with young chuck hiding as a ghost to see his father and his new family.

and the Emerson and Olive scenes are always great

all around a nice episode I wouldn't mind seeing every Halloween

UPDATE
I watch the canadian one on Tuesday, and the scene where Ned walks into the Pie Hole for the first time and notices the Halloween decorations, there's a terrible mix of spooky sound, narrator and Ned talking overlapping each other, which makes it really hard to understand what the narrator says.
I just watched the American west coast version, and they seemed to have fixed it, and cut out the narrator at that moment, only leaving a spooky sound and Ned saying "Spooky"
I even compared the two versions, and there's a definite change

Chuck's speech to Digby about them being the living dead was sweet. I hope Olive's scheming doesn't take away any of Chuck's lightness. The fact that Olive is warming up to Chuck in spite of herself probably means she won't. Olive is basically a good person, and I feel sorry that her love is unrequited.

I hope Chuck is convinced to reveal herself to the Aunts soon.

I liked Barbara Barrie's answer to Olive's asking how she knew Olive was still single. "You wouldn't have to put out that much bait if you had a belly full of fish, dear." (And Olive covering up.)

Personally, I'm rather fond of bait.
