Smallville - Season 7 thread
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Yet another episode with a Clark/Lex confrontation where I'm wishing they could patch it up. Then I remember Lex beating a dude to death last season. Funny thing that he now trusts Lionel, but Lionel just beat someone to death, too.I was hoping Clark would laugh in Lex's face when he was talking about Clark being Lana's original betrayer. No, pal--she now knows everything you only wish you could know.

see...thought you would hate it.

As soon as I read the spoilers for this episode, I knew alot of us were going to hate this episode.
I really didn't care for it either.
I hate the way Lana learned to use heat vision so quickly.
Clark learned to use it by thinking of Lana(love) and even Kara first learned to use it by thinking of Jimmy.
I'm just sick of lana all together.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
This was an oddly constructed and not all that compelling of an episode, plus the silly Lois/Editor subplot just wasn't working for me. Zor-el was a dud of a bad guy. So Editor Boy is a Luthor, though Lionel is in for a surprise when he finds out about him. Having an amnesiac Kara in the middle of Detroit waiting tables, did the writers just run out of things for her to do? Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I liked this episode, I actually felt that Zor El was a very dangerous individual and needed to be put down quickly, this was the first time i've felt that way about a villain on this show in a while. There were two "holy shit!" moments in this episode, one was that we learn that Lionel wasn't Lionel all along, he was Jor El, I knew this good Lionel was too good to be true and the second was that Julian Luthor is alive and well and is currently the editor of the Daily Planet!
I'm also glad that Zor El and Lara are gone, there were far too many Kryptonians presant in one ep for my liking.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
The discovery in regards to the editor came across as too cute by half. It just struck me as really goofy writing more then a "wow" moment, I was just thinking about how it's a rest of so many concepts forwarded in earlier seasons, didn't care for that at all.But I did like the entire Zor El bit, who is definitely a villain without a light side or a reason to really see them as anything but what they are.
Better by a good margin then the rest of the season has been.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Didn't they already do a big revelation with Julian? And wasn't there a bastard son of Lionel's that disappeared circa season two? This show's starting to lose me again. The only big shocker was Kara popping up in Detroit.Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Didn't Lex used to think he had smothered Julian, but it turned out he hadn't?I guess Cleveland isn't Hollywood's whipping city any more, but I almost wish Kara had asked, "Where am I?" and the woman had answered, "Cleveland," and Kara had repeated, "Cleveland? CLEVELAND?!" and then turned around in a circle yelling, "NOOOOOOOOO!" while the camera did that Shawshank rain crane shot.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
That was SO not Detroit. Not even close. Not run down enougn, for one thing. Kara would have been run over in a heartbeat if she was laying in the middle of a Detroit street.I'm just "ugh" about the Julian reveal. More and more characters keep getting piled into the show and the regulars aren't being serviced like they should. Two Lana scenes? A dopey "subplot" involving Chloe? Lionel in a couple brief scenes? At least Kara was halfway watchable this week.

Well we've been waiting for Julian's return for what, like 5 years, and with Lex leaving the show after this season, there's not much choice about when to bring him into the show.
And also, when Lex leaves, Julian can take his place on the show for all the arguing with Lionel scenes.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I don't know about anyone else, but *I* haven't been waiting for five years for Julian to pop up. I could really care less, actually. It just makes Grant Gabriel's sudden appearance at the Planet in the 7th season all the more...unplanned.Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I don't particularly like the addition of Grant Gabriel to the show. I didn't even know the guy's name until just now. What's odd is that when Lois was talking about her nonexistent love life, I thought of Oliver Queen, and the next scene was in the Queen loft.Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I wonder if they've told Michael Cassidy (Grant) that he'll have to shave his head if wants to stay on next year.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
You guy's really aren't grooving on this show, are you?
I'm beginning to feel alone in this thread as the only one who still likes it lol.Adam, i'm not sure but I think your referring to the season 2 episode called 'Prodigal' in which Lex' half brother Lucas shows up, I don't think it was ever revealed that Julian survived but I may be mistaken there.
And I don't know about anyone else but I was shocked to hear that Lionel was Jor El all along. I know that he was once a vessel for him but I thought that ended at the end of season 5 and the beginning of season 6 with the defeat of Zod. To learn that he's still there came out of nowhere for me.
It's sucks, though, because now we know that it was never Lionel who came around and was now an ally to Clark and that if it weren't for Jor El's presence he's still be the bastard he always was.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Except now it basically turns all human characters as potential "vessels" and empty tubes to be filled up.. and we still are no closer to figuring out how Lois went from some coffee server to a mastermind..Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
You mean Lana, as Lois is simply in heat most of the time on the show."Jee-sus, it's like Iwo Jima out there" - Roger Sterling on "Mad Men"

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
I don't think it's a spoiler. Rosenbaum's contract is up, but they could still convince him to stick around. If he demands too much, that will be all she wrote. If they lose him, they might just think about making this the final season.I don't think we're supposed to take it that Jor-El is in control of Lionel. A part of him is still there, influencing Lionel to be a better person perhaps, but Lionel is still mostly Lionel. He's still a bit of a bastard, as his murdering that kidnapper woman showed.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Basically, Lionel still has the stench of being the vessel for Jor-el on him, which is how Zor-el found him, but Lionel is still Lionel (at least until Jor-el decides to pull some Lionel strings)."Jee-sus, it's like Iwo Jima out there" - Roger Sterling on "Mad Men"

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Man, tonight's was the best episode of any TV series ever. Chloe and Lana surprise Clark by inviting him to bed, and when the three of them are done, Clark quite understandably declares, "I am a Superman!" Quite cool, because I think this was how he got the name in the Golden Age as well. He then finally dons the red-and-blues and flies to Metropolis, where he is quickly drawn into battle with Metallo and Parasite. The CGI work here was amazing. I thought I was watching a multimillion dollar movie. Supes needs a little help from the Green Lantern, and the two of them wrap it up quickly. Then, Clark goes into the upper atmosphere to relax, when he sees a disturbance on the small island of Otisburg. By the time he gets there, Wonder Woman and Batman have it all sewn up, but they exchange business cards and promise to meet again. The end.I hope none of you missed out, since most DVRs said a Hillary Duff movie was scheduled.
I think that's an accurate summation, though I *did* have too much turkey today. . . .
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Man, I knew I should have double checked the schedule, I hate that I missed that!

WTF!!! I can't believe they showed a new episode on Thanksgiving day. I'm pretty sure last week they didn't even show a preview, so I was sure it was gonna be 2 weeks.Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Well, I re-read Greg's original post and figure he was kidding, so in light of that, yeah, I'm kidding.
Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Sorry, John. I shouldn't post bored.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread
Yeah, I figured that was it. If I saw a thread bumped on a day I was sure an episode wasn't posted, and the first thing was, "On tonight's episode. . . ." I would stop reading for fear of spoilers and just say, "Guys, WTF? I thought there wasn't anything tonight!" I get where you're coming from.To make up for it, with news you can use, I see that the next episode is not due until Dec. 13.
