The Unit Season 3
Re: The Unit Season 3
The season 3 premiere picked up right where it left off. Phenomenal stuff. Probably the best "network" show on TV right now.| and Dennis Haysbert with a shaved head and goatee ups the whole Sam Fisher-esque feel of the finale. |
I was thinking more Pedro Cerrano.
Re: The Unit Season 3
The only "bad" thing about the season premiere is that is made me wish that it was a 2 hour episode!Re: The Unit Season 3

Exactly. I knew it was a 2 parter going, and I was still mad when I saw "To Be Continued".
Now I need to look up that "Chinese Lie Detector" and see if that was factual.

Boy do I feel stupid. I have been watching The Unit since last year, but hadn't paid close attention to credits. Well, last night I finally read that Rebecca Pidgeon is in the show. I have her album The Raven, but that is the only picture I had seen of her. Now I can finally feel "up to speed" on this show.Lawn Ranger Motto: You're only young once, but you can be always be immature.

Re: The Unit Season 3
The 2-part premiere was really fantastic, and honestly the whole thing played out rather like a movie. You just know some point during the final few episodes of the season, that Bob Brown is going to hang the air freshener and get some help.
Re: The Unit Season 3
A small let-down after such a fantastic 2 episodes of the finale and premiere. Seemed like everything just got tied up in a nice knot too quickly. Next week starts a whole new mission. Hopefully we'll still see some of the aftereffects in the coming episodes. Either way, still great stuff though.Re: The Unit Season 3
Note to the producers, the closed captions for the title sequence, which were incorrect for most of the first season ("plenty sun" instead of "twenty-seven"), have not been corrected to match the sounds of the new title sequence. It's silly to have the old closed captions over a totally different opening.Re: The Unit Season 3
Closed captioning worked fine for me tonight on the title sequence. If i'm not mistaken some networks also have a person literally creating the CC from scratch on a time delay (I actually watched a special on this once), so perhaps that is what I was seeing...Re: The Unit Season 3
It was almost laughable that they were trying to convince us that those two planes were flying over Arkansas and Missouri. It sure looked like California to me.

Re: The Unit Season 3
Closed captions for the title sequence last night was fixed at last.Re: The Unit Season 3
It's funny because all along I thought "Fort Griffith" was in California, but I guess it is actually in Missouri. This season is starting off the strongest of the three so far to me. Eric Haney needs to write more episodes.

Speaking of the opening, it has taken me a few weeks to get used to the new music. At first I hated it, but it is growing on me and I am starting to like it more. They just have better cleared the rights to use it on the S3 DVD set.Proud new member of the Tivolution - TV my way

It's quite a switch from the original theme, but I agree it does grow on you. This season's opening theme is written and sung by series composer Robert Duncan. So far I love this season and I'm already looking forward to Season 3 on DVD. Fox better not replace it.
Disney/Buena Vista/Miramax: Please put Beautiful Girls on Blu-ray with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer in 1080p, and an anamorphic re-release with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer day-and-date on DVD. Thanks!

We really like the show so we can live with these few mistakes.

I still and most likely always will hate the new title music intro. The original was MUCH better in every regard in keeping with the over all theme of the show. This feels like I'm now watching some sort of army soap opera, yuck! Sorry, but it's just dreadful!!!!
Re: The Unit Season 3
Another great episode this week. Not sure if I like the path they are sending Tiffy on next week. Her and Mac's storylines have been the only minor letdowns in this show for me.CBS did announce todayt that they have ordered a full season of the show. It is getting an average rating of 11.4, though it was down some this week due to baseball.

Re: The Unit Season 3
Well, this episode proved once again why The Unit is some of the best action both off the big screen (and better than some on as well).I'll admit that I honestly didn't see the ending coming, though I'm sure others predicted it...

Neither did I. Wow. Guess Tiffies secret is still safe.

Re: The Unit Season 3
I'm really pissed at CBS for blowing the whistle on this one in the previews. They actually outright SAID 5 of them were going on the mission, but only 4 of them were coming back. I avoided the "next week on" but happened to catch it inadvertently during the week. Even when Grey got shot early on, I knew it was gonna be Hector. Had I not seen the previews, I would have been caught completely off guard. Shame on CBS.Question - why was the Unit sent out to rescue this two-bit journalist?
Re: The Unit Season 3
Yeah, CBS really gave this one away. The previews last week actually showed that it was Grey who got shot, pretty much saying it was someone else that would die. Then with Hector's story line last week and him catching Tiffie and Col. Ryan, I figured he was the goner. A shame as he was one of my favorites on the show, why couldn't it have been Mac?
RIP Hector

I liked Hector, but I was actually okay with it being him or Grey. Jonas, Brown and Mac ARE the show. Anyone know why they did kill of Hector though? Was the actor moving on or did they actually want it as part of the story? Seemed kind of pointless to kill him off unless it was his choice to leave the show.
Re: The Unit Season 3
Would Col Ryan kill one of his own on the Unit to protect his secret? Judging by the previews next week it does not look like that would be the case. I don't think he would do something like that anyway.Enjoyed the episode, just a bummer to lose one of the originals.
Cheers,
JJ

A very moving episode tonight, a touching honor for a valiant soldier, you will be missed, R.I.P., HectorI know enough to know I don't know enough!
Re: The Unit Season 3
I didn't realize that a TV show could create such a moment. The last 15 minutes just left me speechless, and I had to fight back tears during the "roll call".Now, if they can just settle out the Tiffy storylines I'll be 100% happy. Seems like everything she keeps getting involved in only works to grind the show to a halt. I would love to see a rest of the season (however short the strike makes it) series long moratorium on the "who's cheating on who" storylines she is always involved in.
