A new look for HTF.........

Re: A new look for HTF.........

I'm not a Simpsons fan, but I loved these colors, the moment I saw them. Different from any other site. I'd like to see these colors stay. Being contrasting colors, they work very well together. Everything stands out nicely. Very easy to read posts.............. Good job!

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Thank you. Now this is a lot, a lot better. I mean with all due respect how you were expecting us to read with that bright yellow is beyond me! It was like the worst kind of color for reading! (for the long run white is always the best)

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Also about promotions. It’s nice to have special promotion like this when there is a new release. It’s nice to have it every week but without the color change of the reading area. To change the color is just too easy! I think adding little icons and characters all around (like the one with Simpsons) is the most beautiful and elegant way to do it.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Thanks -- much improved .

Changing the color scheme occasionaly to reflect some event is a neat idea in itself. Hopefully the execution will live up to it's potential.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

While I am not a Simpson's fan, I like the idea behind it. Let's just hope this isn't some sort of Fox kiss-ass deal and the HTF does this for other future releases with other films.

Sometime's you reach what's real by making believe.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Look - Good. Color - Bad. Sorry but light blue and yellow reminds me of web sites in the early days of the web. Time to change the skin.

BTW, what's with the donuts?

Henry: Are you trying to get Santa to show up early?

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Why has this forum become a simpsons commercial?

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Since there was no staff response to this, I'm guessing the answer is no.

Any chance we get the donut treatment for this, if not something more?

Thanks.

PS: BTW, seems like the "new post" indicator, eg. donut, doesn't work right for me. It often tells me there are new posts in a section even there are none. For instance, it's telling me there are new posts in this very section, but I don't see any new ones.

Yeah, I know the Photography section doesn't get much foot traffic, but now, it might get even less since it's practically hidden from everyone's view.

Thanks for management's consideration (and for all the good work done on the site so far)...

Re: A new look for HTF.........

My apologies for the delayed response.

Where to place the PHOTOGRAPHY area was a question that
was heavily debated by the staff. It was ultimately (but not
unanimously) decided to make it a subforum of the computer area.

Parker:

In both the blue skin AND the blue/yellow skin...in the favorite threads section of the UserCP, the names of the people who originated the threads are in white and difficult to see.

Also, when you click on the "Member's List"...whenever you see the word "Member" underneath someone's name it, too, is in white and hard-to-read.

Of course, I'm not Parker, but...

The blue skin AND the blue/yellow skin are gone, at least until the sequel.

The only thing better than "Member" being hard to read would be dropping it all together.
It's the freakin' member list, having it under every name is redundant.

Henry...the blue/yellow skin has been retained as an option for anyone who still wants it. It's listed at the very bottom of any page in the aptly named "skin chooser" menu.

There's a thread about this in the Feedback Forum.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

You want to know what's odd? Well, I'll tell you. On the Blue and Blue Yellow skins, the subject list will say the following:

HTF Archives
by Parker Clack ( on 03-29-2006 10:32 AM )

On the White skin, it only says:

HTF Archives
Parker Clack

It's not incredibly important, but it is a curious difference.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

And just for completists' sake, it gives the date/time in the blue skin, too. And the time is noted in red.
