First off, Dan has broken one of the most important rules of men; Never date your friends exes. This is even worse when it's a brother. And then, he didn't just date her, he married her. There's enough women in this world to not have to resort to this.

I can understand where the brother's coming from since Dan broke the rules, all bets are off.

I think she was mostly pissed about Dan seeing Livia. She might at one point have been wondering whether Dan could make it so that Livia never died and thus wipe out their current marriage. Then finding out that she is alive and "traveling" with Dan in the past, she might suspect that he is looking forward to his trips just to be with her.

Well, for my money, it was a very good episode. I think it's sad watching Katie crack under the pressure, and I've gone from wondering if Dan would ultimately "fix" things so his brother was happily married to Katie and Dan was happily married to Livia to hoping that Dan can save his marriage. I'm surprised there is criticism over the government lab scientist, because I was glad to get a little breadcrumb about the nature of the time travel. We now are pretty sure that this is somehow deliberate, and that Dan's father was involved!

Was anyone else nervous when Dan was carrying around that big pipe wrench? I laughed a little when I found out it was, indeed, his, but if some guy walked into a bar carrying one, I'd half expect him to start cracking heads.

Enjoyed hearing the Marcy Playground at the bar. I despised the song at the time, but it's grown on me just lately.

This behavior may be annoying to watch, but it isn't exactly unrealistic.

I'm enjoying the show and I like the gradual unfolding of the mysteries. And I agree with Mel about where that phone call was coming from.

Been married 16 years. I think my wife would be more understanding knowing that its something completely out of my control. Its not like Dan is going out and disappearing on command. Not saying it wouldn't be stressful for her. But, she got all pissy on him. Hello, does she think its something he wants to happen.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

But I think there's still a niggling doubt in the back of her mind about whether or not it really is completely out of his control - especially his subconscious control. She'd probably be more understanding were it not for the Livia factor - but knowing that Dan connects with her in the past is eating at her and making her doubt everything he's told her. (Especially since he didn't tell her about Livia until she busted him with the watch.)

Katie has always been insecure about her relationship with Dan and his feelings about the Great Love of His Life (now deceased.) That is evident in the pilot. On some level she's always felt like she was competing with Liva's ghost, that she's somehow to blame for Livia's death (or that other people think she is) and that she is someone Dan "settled for" when he lost the woman he really wanted.

Now Livia is suddenly not dead, Dan is seeing her during his mystery jaunts into the past and she shares the weird power/affliction? That's gotta make Kate feel just terrific. I say we should cut the woman some slack.

I don't believe this got mentioned in this thread yet, but NBC has ordered four more scripts of Journeyman.

We'll see. It's a tough sell, a time traveling show with a lot of the 'fantastical' 'mythic' elements stripped out and replaced with relationship drama elements. To be honest, I'm shocked it made it as far as the new season lineup.

I'm just going to quickly say I enjoyed this episode The Year of the Rabbit

The phone call from the scientist in the present to Dan in the past was cool.

So now maybe Dan's father is in this equation too?

I also liked how Livia helped Dan in the past and talked to Katie.

And the scientist knew Dan's dad. I really liked the mystery phone call and think the scientist will become a significant character and part of the bigger story.

I gave it 1 more episode, and it looks like I'll be sticking around for a bit longer. It looks like things have gotten more interesting, mainly with the scientist and the father of the two brothers.

I just don't know what to do with this show. I'm interested in the overall story of why all of this is happening, but the weekly "touched by an angel" (as Patrick calls it) stuff is boring and uninteresting. Considering that's 80% of the show, I guess it's pointless for me to stick with it. Although with the scientist guy perhaps they'll spend more time on the bigger story.

How is it a good idea for Dan to keep the bread when he's facing a robbery investigation? He can't spend it anyway. The money is still registered and somebody is bound to notice it suddenly coming back into circulation. I'm glad the kid knows something. That's one less person to keep secrets from. Jack probably needs to be brought in, too, so he can know the robbery wasn't Dan for sure.

Anyone else looking forward to when Dan's driving down the highway and disappears into the past, and leaves his car to run into cars, or a ditch?

How old is that money Dan picked up from the past? Hmmm...that won't raise suspicions when it gets spent, will it? It was hard to understand the scientist dude's vocals at times.

We already saw that in the pilot.

Maybe someone wouldn't be watching for the numbers, but if the bills start showing up all of a sudden, someone's going to wonder where the stash had been hidden.

I found it interesting that Dan managed to take his son's hat back with him, does this mean that anything he's holding can he taken back as well, maybe even people?

He should try that next time, when he gets his headache grab his wife and see if she goes with him.

It was established in the pilot that what he's holding goes with him, in terms of material objects. Nothing's been done with other people yet.

This was the best episode so far, for me. The one item that surprised me, though, was that he killed the "Dylan Mcleen" story.

This did happen in the pilot. Although, Dan wasn't driving very fast at the time because he was in city traffic at the time. After he "leapt" the next scene shows the police looking at his car and not being able to find him.

Next thing you know, Dan will have a suitcase of old currency like Doc Brown did in Back to the Future.

I always notice that a leap is coming as soon as he lets go of someone, like with his son at the amusement park.

Now, his son has seen first hand of his dad disappearing.

I thought he was going to go for it until he learned that Captain Ritchie appeared to be living a happy ordinary life and he didn't want to ruin that.

Despite my fears about him leaving his son I thought it was handled pretty well. I'm glad his son thinks he's "magic." Katie knew that his son (being 7) could probably handle the truth better than if he was older. Now he needs to tell his son not to tell people about it.

Now he has money to spend in the past. I hope that the liquor store robbery plotline disappears quickly. They might be setting him up to be arrested and then vanish out of jail.

The meeting with Langley was quite interesting. Langley definitely knows more than he was letting on.

The writers are really trying to emphasize the most compelling aspect of the show - namely Dan's relationships with family and friends. There was not too much emphasis on the 'victim of the week' this time around (a good thing IMO). And you'll notice, the outcome of his victim of the week story pushed his own story forward, leaving him with a fat wad of cash to use for future 'leaps.'

Based on future episode descriptions, Dan's brother is going to start hardcore investigating his brother.

Was it just me, if was the Livermore labs guy kind of sinister? I got a creepy feeling from him, especially when he hinted at using the past for personal gain. I couldn't tell if he was testing Dan or tempting him.

The thing that gets me is, why hasn't he told his brother yet? I generally like the characters (and I'm not even holding that second season of Martial Law against Gretchen Egolf), but for all Dan is asking Jake to do, there's no reason not to be honest with him. Similarly, there seems to be very little reason for Moon Bloodgood's character to be so cryptic.

I'd start with something smaller, like a mouse, where it might not be such a bummer if the time-travel killed her or where it wouldn't be a major problem if they weren't holding hands when he jumped forward.
