The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

I don't know if you've seen it, but BloodRayne is one of the most astoundingly "so bad it's good" movies I have ever seen. I mean, Michael Madsen and Michelle Rodriguez as Medieval warriors and Meatloaf as some kind of warped, gender blurred Duke. I swear Ben Kingsley is doing his best Liberace impression. It's downright surreal. Plus, Kristanna Loken unleashing the bouys. What more can you ask for? I suspect the sequel is just plain bad, but I have to find out. It will be an interesting camp double feature with Death Proof.

Everybody Loves Raymond

and possibly Kindergarten Cop, if it's actually out in the proper OAR this time, which is rumored to be the case, but we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks guys.

Wow! What a massive week!

I am going to have to spread this out over a few weeks, but when the dust settles, I hope to end up with:
Boston Legal: Season 3
Robinson Crusoe on Mars (I can FINALLY retire the Criterion LD!)
Roger Corman Collection
Smallville: Season 6
Superman Doomsday

And, I am seriously considering Brothers & Sisters: Season 1, but I'd like to see a review or two...

Re: Weekly RoundUp 9-18-2007

I'm wondering if I should pick up Death Proof. I don't like the fact that there is no release for the theatrical "Grindhouse" But it seems like the Standalone "Death Proof" does have some stuff to offer. Other than that, I think I'll go for MWC: Season 7

Thanks for your great work guys!

I'm getting Boston Legal III and Death Proof. Death Proof is highly recommended; it's by far the better half of Grindhouse. It is vintage Tarantino and I sat on the edge of my seat through most of it.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 9-18-2007

Thanks, Mike and Patrick. Lot of stuff this week, but not much I'll be getting now.

MWC season 7 is the first season I won't be getting upon release - I'll wait for the eventual sales on it. I'll probably get the Arnie box if they are, in fact, anamorphic transfers. I want to get Deliverance but I'm probably going to pick up an HD DVD player next month, so I'll wait to pick up the HD DVD of it. And I'll eventually blind buy Robinson Crusoe on Mars because I feel like I have to after everything I've read about it here over the years.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?

Now THAT's a combo for a double feature!

This is a big week for me:

Boston Legal: S3 (Wife & I are about half-way through S2 now)

Death Proof (Missed this in the theater to my utter dismay)

The Schwarzenegger set (On the premise they are in their OAR)

Somehow I've gotten this far through my life and I have never even seen Deliverance, The Threepenny Opera or Robinson Crusoe on Mars. I will be looking for them down the road (the latter two maybe during a DDD sale in November).

And now John is making me think I am missing something by not having the Bloodrayne movies in my collection.

I was thinking the same thing but Borders has a 40% off coupon (off the MSRP) on all box sets on Monday and Tuesday so you can get MWC S7 for $24. Hopefully, they'll have it on the shelves on Tuesday.
