I got mine this morning at Menlo Park NJ. They had less than 10 and only a few left when I got mine. Freehold claims they still arent getting any till the 28th but I doubt that. I had to decide whether I wanted to be an EARLY early adopter or save $30 and wait for it to come to Costco, gadget lust won out, woohoo!
It is GORGEOUS. Pics tonight when I get home. It's also TINY and a fingerprint MAGNET. Glossy as hell with the trademark Apple lickability (tm).
Buuut....
So far I cant get my macbook to recognize it, probably because I havent auto updated it in a few weeks and I cant put it on the network here to update itunes. The windows side of it sees it as a big available hard disk (i dont have iTunes loaded on that half) but the OSX side wont even show it on the desktop, which is what I assume it should do when it finds a iPod (I sync my regular iPod on my Windows Desktop so this could be a bad assumption on my part). Will probably have to wait till I get home, and its a brick until it syncs with iTunes. If I open iTunes manually it doesnt show an iPod connected their either.

Re: iPod touch (iTouch!) owners thread!
Downloading the latest iTunes .dmg file now, I hear that will fix it, fingers crossed.

OK, that worked, it did tell me that a few of my Podcasts wouldnt be synced cause they wouldnt play on this ipod, any idea what that's all about? They are standard iTunes downloaded podcasts, mostly about photography and Photoshop...

Re: iPod touch (iTouch!) owners thread!
It's the best iPod I've owned, of 4 different ones. The small size has NOT been a problem so far but I would never say no to more space.

I have a similar question to Carlo Medina's: I have no use for an iPhone, but like the ability to connect to the internet with the iTouch, thus sparing me the cost of buying a cheap laptop for when I am travelling. Some friends (NOT experts on iTouch) think that there is a monthly fee for using the wi-fi. (They've been throwing around a $20-30 price tag on it.) I have checked out the Apple website, but can't find anything stating that. Can anyone help me out? And before anyone asks, I just want something to check/send email, locate businesses while out-of-town and keep up on HTF (it's addicting!). Also, are sites that use pop-ups a problem? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Dave!
Actually, the "clincher" for me to get this is that I work for Starbucks and when we switched to AT&T last year I now get free wi-fi access while there. Thanks for the info! Now I just gotta wait til I get my next 10% off shopping day with my Target Visa to pick one up!

I would imaging we'll be getting details in a few weeks.
Thanks for the heads-up! I'm in no rush to get one, just looking at options right now. I already have 2 iPods (a 30G Classic and a shuffle), so this next one is just for the internet connectivity. I'll keep my eyes (and ears) open for more news!

I just bought my daughter the 8 gig iTouch. A couple of questions...
1) How do I get pictures from my computer into iTunes so I can load them onto her iTouch?
2) Does texting or internet cost extra for a service of some sort or is it ready to go and if so how do I set it up?
