Meet John Doe- Which is the best version to get?

Hi everyone,

Could someone please help me pick which DVD release of Meet John Doe is the best? I can only play Region 1 DVDs. Thanks!

It's not perfect, but the Hal Roach Studios/Image Entertainment DVD is the best in R1.

Time to go multi-region. There are hacks for players online.

My player is really old- I doubt there's a hack for it.

The version sold in the UK, with a commentary from Ken Barnes, is actually R0 and NTSC.

If you mean this version yes it is the best version going and I can confirm that it is all region and NTSC eventhough it is seems to only be sold outside of the US. Many sites over there list it as PAL but it is for certain NTSC.

I just picked this up and it is the best transfer of this PD title that I have seen.

No need to go overseas for this as you can get it right here in the U.S at Tower.com:

Has any one compared the two versions mentioned to the Marengo version? Marengo has done some decent transfers and may be worth the price even if it's just a little less visually satisfying.
