Howdy!
I have loaned out my Criterion copy of HARD BOILED to a co-worker but now am curious about something in the film (as I am playing the fun demo of the new "Stranglehold" game, the pseudo-sequel to the movie).
Anyway, does anyone know the drink that Tequila drinks at the beginning of the movie and what it is called? He mixes some fizzy stuff (just tonic?) with tequila, slams on the bar and shoots it down his throat. I think such a move might kill a mere mortal but Chow Yun Fat comes out of it fine...unless it was this move that made him pick up a clarinet and play. Who knows.
But I digress. Any bartenders know if this is a real drink and what it is called?
