"Revolutionary Road"
A young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children. Based on a novel by Richard Yates.
I am very much looking forward to this movie - Leo DiCaprio is proving to be one of the BEST ACTORS Hollywood has ever had! His track record is practically seamless with solid performances and well-received movies, and he's only getting better in his "old age." He hasn't taken that action-hero U-turn like Nic Cage and Tom Cruise, DiCaprio is still doing "human drama," and that's my favorite type of cinema.
Kate Winslet is also a darling of the modern cinema! I can watch her in anything, even that disappointing movie called
Quills. Not only is she beautiful, but she can really act. I even like her better than Cate Blanchett, and I like Cate a lot, too.

Re: Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater REUNITED!!
Yeah, both are competent actors. I didn't think they had the best chemistry in Titanic but they pulled it off anyway. I hope this flick is good.
I can offer some Leo love (in a all around straight way) myself. He was terrific and believable as Howard Hughes and fantastic as that guy who possed as an imposter whenever he needed money. Really good actor. I highly recommend some of his early works like This Boy's Life and Gilbert Grape.

Yeah, in my Parent's Neighborhood in SW Connecticut, Dreamworks sent out flyers saying that they were looking for a suitable house in the area for filming

part of the backlash from Titanic was the corny dialog.

Re: Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater REUNITED!!
Interesting that ten years ago, both were up and comers.
Now they have, what, SEVEN or EIGHT Oscar noms between them (they had TWO combined back then).
I'm excited for this because of the horsepower. Arguably, the best actor and actress of their generation, directed by a pretty good director. Good news, good news. It's a testament to their careers that the monolithic (and brilliant

) Titanic did not define them.
No need to defend Titanic

Re: Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater REUNITED!!
I never found their Titanic love story believable in the least. I'm able to suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it anyway. The draw on that film for me was the Jack character. It had a whole Mark Twain carefree air about it. Winslet was voluptuous and extremely hot, so that helped too.
Heavenly Creatures is a really great film. I was actually more fascinated by Winslet's co-star in that one. But they both did a first rate job of showing the extreme relationship of those girls.

Re: Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater REUNITED!!
Well, I didn't see Kate and DiCaprio returning to a generic love story anyway. Still, the press is going to be ALL OVER this, simply based on their combined success ten years ago. I'm interested to see what the actors have to say, both about this film, about expectations, and about their last film together

I'm quite pleased the story (which I know nothing about, and won't look into...I like surprises) subverts the notions that many will bring in based on their relationship from Titanic.
Again, what really matters is how amazingly talented they are. It's a treat to see them in the same film.

Not much news, except for a December release. Still wanted to share. I'd love it if a mod would retitle the thread to include the actual title Revolutionary Road
Pointless MSNBC article.

I've got to upgrade my Titanic DVD.Haven't seen it in about 4 or 5 years.
Nice shot from this new film. Looks good to me. Too bad Winslet is having some problems. It'll be interesting to see if that effects those scenes.
