The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Thanks Mike. I didn't know that this set was coming out and would be happy to upgrade the quality of my copies of the 1998 NLCS Game 2 game, the Wood 20K game, and Sosa's 61 and 62 HR game while getting the legendary 1984 games as a bonus. I just wish that they would have presented the whole Ken Holtzman no-hitter instead of just two batters.

Just as a heads up to everyone: my mother was kind enough to drop by Target for me this afternoon to pick up Holy Grail for me on her way home from work, and didn't have as much luck as the ad led me to hope. Though the 3-disc version is clearly (and distinctively) pictured in the ad, the version Target has on sale is the older 2-disc special edition.

While the 3-disc would have been nice, I just settled for the 2-disc one and am satisfied enough for $10 -- it's not worth fighting them on this (and indeed I'm not sure they even stock the 3-disc version.) If they did, they would probably honor it, but I'm sure the 3-disc being in the ad is a mistake and it was intended to advertise the 2-disc version. If you want the 3-disc, your best bet might be to take the Target ad to another store and attempt to pricematch it. FYI. Good luck.

Oh, and all of the Pixar films with the exception of Cars are recieving temporary price drops for the summer issued by Disney. This means that you'll probably be able to find them for less than $15 at *ALL* retailers and that the Best Buy sale is not specific to them (nor will it end at the end of the week.) The pricedrop thing is being done to promote the upcoming theatrical release of Ratatoulle; they have done this the last two or three times Pixar has had a new theatrical release, and will probably do it again next summer to promote Wall-E. In any case, I have heard newly stocked copies of the sets also contain a free movie ticket to see Ratatoulle. The drops will probably last at least through July, and probably up until Labor Day-ish.

Ya know, every time I post those MLB releases in a Roundup I get quite a few remarks-of-interest.

I wonder if they translate into good sales for these sets? Maybe so. And that's why they keep coming!

BTW, when I was at a "local" Target (Milford, CT) today, I noticed Veronica Mars seasons 1 and 2 at $22.99 each - looks like an unadvertised part of that season-set sale that Mike and Patrick posted. I also saw some Simpsons sets with a $16.99 shelf tag. Don't know if that's accurate or if the sets were misplaced, but it's worth a shot if you're interested in them (I already have every season released so I didn't look at the specifics).

Nothing this week, other than possibly going back to Target later in the week to pick up VM season 2. I recently picked up season 1 as a blind buy, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet so I may hold off on picking up S2. But that price is tempting, especially with the $5 gift card that's been burning a hole in my wallet since, I think, January.

Yep, they've never stocked the 3 disc version. I'm not sure where they're getting their unending supply of the 2 disc versions, but that's all they sell. I appreciate the heads up that this is still so - I was about to run out to Target on Monday if this ad had been accurate.

Finally! Babylon5 for $19.99/each season! I've been waiting years for this price! The funny thing is that Best Buy is also selling a seasons 1-4 pak for over $200, when you can buy them individually during the sale for a total of $80!

The ones at $19.99 are already on backorder, but I got my order in earlier and they've already shipped.

Great to see Cthulhu getting some love -- and an official release! (I believe this is the first time it's been available through distributors -- it's been on Amazon for a while, but only as a third-party seller item.)

I love the review that says "You'll laugh! You'll cry! You'll be eaten by the Old Gods!"

Note that there's a newer film called Cthulhu that looks pretty cheesy from the trailer -- I was afraid that that was the new release.
