I will be interested in seeing these screen captures, since I compared the original single disc release of Horror of Dracula against the "Film Favorites" four-title set, and found them to be totally identical, using the same equipment for both.  Tom, IIRC, you said that you have the download version.  I wonder if that version was mastered differently?  (Maybe it's the version that is intended for future release on DVD and/or BD?)

I don't have the downloaded version and never said I did. I have the "Film Favorites" version. I took the screenshots last night but didn't get around to putting them up yet. I will do so tomorrow.

I did notice as I skipped around the disc, that the framing was still a bit tight. I can't find my original DVD to compare which is why I bought the set.

I'll admit that I may be wrong and the framing is that same. After all, it had been a few years since I last saw it and I may have made the framing worse in my mind. Still, I'll put the screenshots up and everyone can tell me if I'm imagining things or not. Wouldn't be the first time.

It seems to have gotten lost so I'll mention it again. I have a deal in progress for a Super 8mm print of this title. The seller told me it was mastered from a 35mm British print so it has the "correct" title and all. If and when I get this print, I'll be sure to tell everyone how it is framed.

Sorry, Tom, I was confusing your posts with ones from Ben (who said he downloaded the movie).

To my eyes, the two DVD releases are identical.  But it would be VERY interesting if the download version were different!  Ben, are you able to supply any screen captures?

I guess in the years since I've seen it, I had made the framing out to be worse than it is. Oh well. Maybe one day we'll get the correct framing on DVD.

Now then, these caps are from where I first learned about the differences (http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/topic/26809), they aren't actually mine. BUT, I will say the caps of the Amazon version are what I have on mine which I downloaded. The original discussion started around Amazon's version of SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA, actually.
