Sammy DLP and PS3 1080p... hey that kinda rhymes!

does anyone know how I can figure out if i'm getting a 1080p picture or a 1080i? i never messed with any settings, the ps3 just worked out of the box.
the ps3 looks better than my HD satalite picture and i'm pretty sure that is 720p/1080i over hd component cable.

Your TV Should have an Info button or something that will display the current res.

Of course you should go through the Video setup on the PS3 and make sure it is set to 1080p. I have a feeling it already is but you should check!

I believe you can uncheck 1080i in the PS3 settings, and if you still get a picture you should be running fine @ 1080p (and if not, well I guess that answers your ?).

it looks like i'm getting a 1080i signal... bummer!
i'm gonna have to upgrade the tv (and probably everything else the way the tech keeps changing!) next year

If your TV is capable of doing 1080p just change the settings in the PS3

i think my tv wont accept a 1080p signal, it will only accept a 1080i. i know its bs but i guess the early model sammy's are that way. i dont get why they made it 1080p if it cant accept a 1080p signal
