Re: Lawrence Of Arabia in HD
All of this is dependent upon extant elements and their condition, and what it is that the owner wishes to create from them.
Scanning in 8k from a clean source to create an HD element is a waste of dollars and energy.
Each project has its own needs, and route for a derivative image.

Depends, It can be downloaded into the theater's media server via satellite, or a high speed t3 line, they can be delivered on hard drives or it can be recorded out to film and delivered in the traditional fashion.

The Digital Bits says that Sony will release the BRD LOA as part of a 17 disc "best picture" set on November 18th. No word I've seen on an individual BRD LOA release...I'm not sure I can afford a 17 disc BRD set right now.

Well, it's on DigitalBits' Rumor Mill for this year. I really hope it happens, and I hope it will look amazing. Sony has done a lot of the Blu-Ray's right, so it should be ok. And now we'll have to wait for an official press release from Sony
