HBO's The Pacific finally a go?

I saw this today

Sorry if it is old, but I never thought we would see this after the last 2 years worth of delays.

I can't wait for it. If it is a fraction as good as Band of Brothers, then it will be excellent.

Re: HBO's The Pacific finally a go?

I'm looking forward to it, but I remember reading that its focus would be less on a single group of front-line troops and more on the folks around them (nurses, civilians, etc.). Hopefully it'll live up to its predecessor (or at least come close!).

Looks like we won't see this until 2009. Still should be great.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

I saw this preview last night after True Blood and it looks great.  Said it was being released in 2010.  Anyone else catch this last night?
