Re: old Yamaha equipement
DSP-3000 – a stand-alone surround sound processor, probably primarily for Yamaha’s music surround modes modeled after real venues, possibly with Dolby Pro-Logic and/or Dolby Digital. Receivers have these features built-in now, so it’s probably worthless.
cx-2000 – A pre-amp, probably top of the line. Some of these still get a pretty penny on eBay.
eq-1100u (2 of) – A 10-band stereo equalizer. No one uses these things much anymore, but apparently there is still a demand for some of Yamaha’s models. A 1100 recently sold on eBay for $152.
mx-2000 (2 of) – Those old Yamaha amps are great stuff and still in demand. A MX-1000 recently sold for over $500 on eBay. Believe it or not, the 2000 is a lower powered amp that listed for a higher price. Still, I’ll be shocked if you can’t get at least $300 for one.
mx-55 (2 or 3) – A low-power 4-channel amp. Typically sells for under $100.
tx-2000 - A top-of-the-line tuner. Not much demand for tuners anymore, so it’s getting hard to find good ones. According to the comprehensive FM Tuner Index, these sell for over $300 on eBay.
kx-1200u – From what I recall, an awesome three-head cassette deck in its day. Googling turned up a tidbit that Yamaha used Nakamichi mechanisms in it (Nakamichi was probably the premier maker of cassette decks back then). As good as it is, you probably won’t get much for it – it’s rare to see a cassette deck go for over $100 on eBay.
DSR-100 pro -A Dolby Pro Logic processor. These were used to upgrade a stereo receiver to surround sound. Pretty much worthless these days.
cdc-610u - You can't give away a CD changer anymore.
tt-500u - A late 80s turntable. Yamaha had considerably downscaled their 'tables by this time. This one was top-of-the-line, yet it sold for less than half of what Yamaha's flagship 'table had cost only a few years earlier. Yamaha's older heavyweight (literally) 'tables still get a pretty good hunk of change on eBay; this one probably isn't worth much.
