Remote Technology Remotes

An AV installer has reccommended a RTi remote T2+. Says it's better than Harmony etc. I can't disagree as I have no experience with either. It's also $600 plus cost to setup as opposed to Harmony 890 at $230 on Amazon. Does anybody here have any thoughts on the RTi remotes v. the Harmony, pro or con.
Thanks.

Re: Remote Technology Remotes

What would make it better; the price? I dont think you can do much better than a remote that will do everything, is easy to use and doesnt cost much.

Panasonic TH-50PX60U
Yamaha RX-V659
Paradigm Studio 40 V.4 up front
Paradigm Studio CC-570
Paradigm Servo-15Sonance Symphony in-ceiling surrounds

Re: Remote Technology Remotes

i agree dont get the rti's. First off, they are plain ugly, secondly they do nothing different. Get the harmony, they are lower priced, look better, and do the exact same job.

Re: Remote Technology Remotes

Of cource the installer is going to recomment RTI - you have to buy it from him AND pay him to program it. Go with the harmony.

Re: Remote Technology Remotes

I'd go with the Harmony and try to buy something else cool with the $370 you save.

Re: Remote Technology Remotes

Don't be afraid to explore as you're setting up your remote - the harmony web site is much more powerful than it at first appears. One other thing - it's very easy to make changes. I recently changed receivers from a Sony to a Denon. On my Pronto this was a nightmare - but on the harmony I was up and running in 10 minutes.
