See what happens if I check the round-up only once a week? I missed Mike's Birthday! Hope you had a good one!

Not too mention all the other (much more important) information that pours in after the OP!

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-13-2007

I doubt if anyone else here is looking for my most wanted release of the week: Indiana Pacers Greatest Games, Volume One. However, I found a good price, so I'll share.

It's $29.99 at Best Buy, $23.58 at Deep Discount, $22.49 at Amazon and $20.99 at DVD Planet. However, the best price I found was at Family Video, where this 4-DVD set can be yours for only $14.99 plus 99 cents shipping.

Gabe: That's awesome! Thanks!

I started including pro team issues like that one...but stopped when they became so prevalent. I still do some occasional ones (like the recent SuperBowl official NFL release, but anytime someone does that kind of research...sharing it here can be a big help to others (in this case...other like-minded Pacers fans! ).

Scott,

Stylistically, Casino Royale is as different as it gets for a Bond film. It's a fine place to start, but if you love it, don't expect every other Bond film to be similar. They're not. As for the rest of Chris' list, I'd recommend them all as the "top Bond films to watch", with the notable exception of "The Man With the Golden Gun", which I would avoid like an outbreak of tuberculosis. The two Moore films I would recommend are "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "For Your Eyes Only". Also, where Brosnan is concerned, I found "Tomorrow Never Dies" to be superior to "Goldeneye", but both films are undeniably his best, with his final two being among the worst films in the Bond series.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-13-2007

OK, here's the scoop on the exclusives at Target:
Casino Royale IS the same as the UK edition (2 DVD set w/40 page book). There is NOT a third disc or any exclusive material on the DVD. I did see the package, but wasn't able to tell the exact size of the book (maybe 7x5?) because of the cardboard sleeve that houses both items.
Sublime: The sticker says it includes a music video, a featurette (time unknown) and bonus interviews.

Hope that helps, and a belated Happy Birthday to Mike!

Burmese Harp and Fires on the Plain already ordered at Amazon, but they're due to be shipped with Early Bergman which doesn't come out for another couple of weeks.

The lack of love for Kon Ichikawa in this thread is disturbing.

But, Martin! I featured The Burmese Harp above both The Holiday and Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning at the top of the OP.

Just curious... What is Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning? Is it the old show or a new direct to video?

The Target Exclusive is indeed a book. We got in a box at the store I work,I opened it up and looked like at least a dozen copies of the Deluxe Edition included. Not sure if this is the same for all stores but if this is what you want better get it early Tuesday!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-13-2007

Thanks for the Bond advice, guys. I think I'll pick up CR this week. I have a $5 Target GC, so it'll be $11. Not bad for a blind buy.

It is this made-for-TV movie that premiered on ABC Family a couple weeks ago. I think I heard something about it being a pilot for a series based on the concept.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?

Scott: How do you figure the DVD gets an "unrated" tag? Especially considering it aired on ABC Family?

What was in the book? Anything substantive?

I haven't seen Casino Royale yet, but I agree with everything that Lyle wrote except for the last two Brosnan films. I enjoyed them (The World Is Not Enough was decent, and I actually liked Die Another Day a LOT), but realize they aren't for everyone. DAD in particular crosses the line into science fantasy quite a bit -- I just had a lot of fun with it.

I laughed when i went into CC and saw the Bond box sets for 20% off. Thats 20% off the $80 list price. Big deal, i can get THAT price any day of the week. My CC had the new Bond for close to $17, and not the $14 i thought i saw listed here. I just dont like the layout of my CC, and i am never impressed with the softwear selection. I cant find the new releases, and the stuff they hawk for $4 in the ad is never to be found either. I thought i had a reason to go to CC, but as usual i didnt.

Hey, Mike, is it time to feed your Scarlett Johansson addiction again? Saw this in the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue and thought of you:

Mary: That's very generous of you.

Disney did a pretty fun campaign including various celebrities as different Disney characters. I suppose I could agree that Scarlett as Cinderella is probably a pretty fair choice!

Ooh, just found an even better site with these -- downloadable, decent resolution, and you can get a version without the text -- or at least without the caption and the Disney Parks logo.

I love the one with Beyonce (as Alice in Wonderland), Lyle Lovett (as the March Hare) and Oliver Platt (as the Mad Hatter)! Riding in a teacup, no less....
