Great news for everyone interested in this show. I've been waiting a while for this one.

Interesting how they've chosen to package it. I wonder what the logic is behind it. It seems to me it's either confidence, or a lack of confidence, in its commercial prospects.

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

I've been hoping that with the release of "MacGyver" completed (well almost), that this show and "Danger Bay" would be next. It sounds great. Thanks to Fox for finally bringing "The Fall Guy" out.

Disney/Buena Vista/Miramax: Please put Beautiful Girls on Blu-ray with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer in 1080p, and an anamorphic re-release with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer day-and-date on DVD. Thanks!

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

Awesome news! I didn't think this one was going to be put out. I just hope it isn't a one and done deal.

To avoid this, I hope they do something like Magnum PI has being doing, adding a bonus episode from the next season. This way they can put Markie Post on the cover too, as she didn't appear until season 2. Or if they don't do that, they will really have to play up Heather Thomas on the cover to get the males who are undecided about purchasing it.

The high $59.99 suggested price isn't going to stop us committed fans from buying it, but I wish FOX had decided on $49.99 instead. Assuming a 25% sale discount, I would think $37.50 would sell many more copies than $45. But the split set idea is a good idea for those marginal people too - perhaps only $22.50 for a sample, the cost of a movie DVD.

I can't wait!

TV DVDs wanted: TJ Hooker (seasons 3-5), The Fall Guy (Seasons 2-5), Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Father Dowling Mysteries, Queen of Swords, Smurfs, and Charlemagne (1994 TV miniseries)

2007 is turning out to be a great year for my DVD collection. I'm just hoping that all three of these get the entire series run released. Only time will tell.

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

Thank heavens but a question. Why is the complete set 5 discs but the split sets 3 discs each?
Please sign our petition to get Warner to release DVDs of all films that they can featuring Bert Wheeler, Robert Woolsey and/or Dorothy Lee.

I would presume because they are splitting up the two extra features. In order to do that they needed to ad an extra disc.

What's the likelihood of cuts of any kind? It wouldn't surprise me if they'd even cut the theme song.

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

This is turning out to be a great year for tv on dvd.

A 2nd season the hulk and coach. Releases of Chips and the Fall Guy.

Hopefully it sells well.

Fall guy has always been my most wanted TV on dvd.

I know the theme song off by heart.

Plus I'm sure theres no way it would be replaced, Lee Majors himself sang it.

Hope this isn't a false rumour.

Cheers

It would certainly surprise me, considering one of the featurettes is called "The Unknown Stuntman: The Theme Song".
Who knows, maybe the inclusion of the theme song is the reason for the relatively high list price.

I couldn't agree more! I was really pleasently surprised about Coach season 2.

I'm hoping The Hulk will wrap in a years time as well.

Now, if we could only get more Simon & Simon & T.J. Hooker!!

Especially the episode of Hooker that had Heather Thomas (from Fall Guy) on it. Mmm, Heather Thomas and Heather Locklear together. '80s goodness!

I've been seen with Farrah.

Although that doesn't sound as impressive as it used to.

Has anyone seen any eps recently? How well does it compare to its original airing? Considering that the A-team is kind of meh, by now.

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

Hard to say if it holds up or not having not seen it in ages. But my guess is definately since i have thought stuff like simon&simon, magnum, a-team, riptide, macgyver, greatest american hero, knight rider, airwolf, hardcastle & mccormick to name a few i own all hold up well. So for me there is no question i will still love The Fall Guy!!

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

It has probably been 6 or 7 years since I last viewed my syndicated rerun recorded episodes of it, now sadly destroyed. It held up then and I am certain that it will hold up now. I believe these episodes were the pilot split into two parts, Markie Post's first appearance and Howie wrestling some female wrestlers (were they from GLOW?).

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

I've seen "The Fall Guy" recently on Fox Net (though I no longer have it), and I think it has held up very well. I recently moved and for a brief time I was able to watch it again after not seeing it for years. "The Fall Guy" is still as enjoyable and entertaining as "MacGyver", "Magnum, p.i.", and "Quincy".

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

It holds up nicely, the humor is typical for its time but still fresh and funny, it was a fast paced show even back in the early 80s. Should be interesting to hear from Doug Barr again, haven't seen him since he was in "The Wizard", he's a director now.

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

While on a business trip to NYC last summer, I decided to visit the Museum of TV and Radio on a weekend afternoon. You can check out two episodes of any series they have in their library, and due to a nostalgic kick, I decided to check out an episode of "The Bionic Woman" and an episode of "The Fall Guy."

TBW was excruciatingly boring (I don't know if it was the ep, but there wasn't much action), while TFG was breezy and entertaining. (It was the Halloween episode co-starring Elvira and the entire Carradine clan. Not sure if it was S1 or not.) There were enough plot holes in the story to drive Colt's truck through them, but the cast was having so much fun that it was easy to overlook this. I think the fact it didn't take itself "too" seriously and that the cast had really good chemistry makes it hold up better (and of course, Heather Thomas sure don't hurt either--something "A Team" didn't have). But it is definitely a 1980s series. Looking forward to the "Complete" First Season DVD.

(It was also fun to watch the ep complete with original commercials (including previews of Friday night's episodes of Benson and Webster), bumpers, and William Conrad's "The Fall Guy will return in a moment" announcement.)

Neat. I saw one episode and it had the cast from the Hospital series Trauma Centre in it.

Can't wait to get the entire season 1 on DVD.

I think will hold up well. Just take it for what it is..an '80's action show!

Re: Finally - The Fall Guy!

I am surprised Fox is charging $60 for the entire first season. Seems like $39.99 would be more logical since while The Fall Guy has it's audience, it's not exactly a show that will be doing gangbusters, and then Fox will blame poor sales on why they won't release a season 2 DVD
