The good thing about the ad is that, while the trailers principally establish the character and heart of the film, the Superbowl ad demonstrates that there will probably be a strong comedy element. And that is good, to know that there will be that balance.

Yea, I think they didn't reveal too much in the Superbowl ad on purpose - I feel like if you give too much stuff away in the beginning, people won't be intrigued to see the film. They've been teasing me with just enough stuff with WALL-E that I'm dying to see more every time. The cockroach thing is just absolutely adorable too, you're right.

New Trailer that came out during the Disney Stockholder's meeting. Finally talks about the story and introduced another character named EVE.

I could only find it here for now
Wall-E Trailer

I'm sure a better quality one will be out soon.

This movie gets more fantastic with each trailer. It's no wonder I'm going to school to do this stuff for a living, I just adore it it.

Pixar may flub up eventually, but it sure probably wont be with WALL-E.

Man, that looks good.

The last piece of music at the end of the trailer is from Jaws 2 (recognizing that music means I've seen Jaws 2 way too many times).

Interesting that trailer on Quicktime isn't the same as the one I linked. The quicktime one was even better! Maybe I linked an international one or something.

Thank you for the quicktime link. Just stunning.

Fantastic new trailer! The "Halt" scene was hilarious.

I think this is going to be huge!

Re: WALL-E (Pixar 2008)

This is perhaps the greatest trailer in the history of cinema! I'm not even joking, though I'm sure people can find better. I was laughing and almost crying actually - for some reason the character of Wall-E is really touching me even in these trailers. For example, after the "From the humans who brought you . . ." splash I absolutely get heartbroken at Wall-E's scream when Eve is being taken away. Then, less then five seconds later, I'm grinning as he's marveling at the little "particles" in space as he's holding onto the ship.

Maybe I'm just a sap.

My ONLY issue with the trailer is a small gripe, but Wall-E is shown watching a movie in the trailer and it obviously is made up of real humans (ie. not CG humans), but we see a CGI human in the trailer which seems somewhat odd to me. That's my one little gripe, and I only even noticed it after it was pointed out to me elsewhere.

Dont click on the picture!!!!!

It takes you to a page that is full of pop-ups, pop-unders and it even tried to install something!!!!

Please do not link to pages that have this much spam. Or at least warn us.

I felt like I needed to run a virus scan after visiting that page.

Actually you need a new modern internet browser!
Because frankly I clicked on it with different browsers and nothing bad happened. Got no pop ups. Besides, that's on imageshack and it's standard. Everyone uses it here to post images.

oh and the detail on that image is amazing. Don't forget to click on it to get the 1:1 size.

Re: WALL-E (Pixar 2008)

I get a "The Dumb Test" pup-under and 2 blocked pop-ups. Plus at home I get something trying to install something off of my MS Office Install disc.

I think it is just on the first visit of the day. I just went back and it didn't pop anything.

This is a fantastic trailer. Does anyone know where temporary files like this are stored on Vista? I'd like to save this baby.

I find it interesting that in the latest commercials that Toy Story 2 isn't mentioned/shown at all.

Excuse the bump but wanted to share this video - explains a little bit more what the film is about.
I always thought he was the cutest little guy, and have been so impressed by the animation, but never really knew the ins and outs of the plot (don't worry - it doesn't give away too much - I hate when trailers do that).

I'm drawing a blank here... has there been any info on the short that will preceed WALL-E?

Re: WALL-E (Pixar 2008)

I too think Wall-E looks a lot like Johnny 5, especially the head/eyes of both are very similar. Also the treads are very similar.

The only thing really different is the main body itself. Those are quite different.

I've read that it involves a bunny and a magic hat.

OK, I did some more searching and found way more than I wanted to. The short is called "Presto".

Perhaps there are some clues in the reviews linked above:

More than anything, it will make you think of the great cautionary SF movies of the 1970s: Logan’s Run, THX-1138, Soylent Green, and (especially) Silent Running.

But it’s the story that’s going to stir up a lot of comment—maybe the most powerful warning against consumerism, unsustainable lifestyles, and addiction to luxury that was ever offered in a mainstream film. It’s downright chilling in places

Re: WALL-E (Pixar 2008)

I hope it is not to obvious or preachy because I don't like being preached at during a movie (like The Day After Tomorrow). I want mind it if it is more subtle and fits the plot like THX-1138 and Logan's Run but, if Pixar begins to preach at me about having to change my life style or the world will die, I will not enjoy the movie. I really am looking forward to this movie but the above few post have me a little concerned now.
