So anyone else catch the premiere of the FX show Dirt?

I thought it was good enough for another viewing. Quite frankly it was weirder than expected, kinda predictable, and unfortunately I get the feeling I wont be sticking around for the whole season (like most FX shows for me, oddly). But, so far so...interesting.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about this one. I think they're treading a very thin line with the hallucination scenes, and the mix of over-the-top melodrama and seemingly realistic sordidness isn't quite working for me. I'll probably give it another couple weeks because I do see some of the characters as potentially interesting, but I think it will likely wind up too far on the crazy side of the ledger.

I am also on the fence, like I suspected I would be. There are no characters that interest me other than Don (I think that was his name).

The editing and style of the show bugged the hell out of me and I will probably lose interest after the next few episodes.

At least I will have ROME, ENTOURAGE, and THE SOPRANOS to hold me over until the RESCUE ME is back on FX.

Anyone know when Season 2 starts? Assuming, of course, there is to be a season 2. I was surprised a search only turned up this one thread and with so few comments.

There absolutely will be a Season 2, despite the incredulous reaction of many of the show's detractors, online. TheFutonCritic is projecting the Season 2 Premiere on New Year's Day.

For me, the big questions are (1) Will F/X be broadcast in HD by then? and (2) Will Comcast carry F/X HD? I think the answers are (1) Maybe, and (2) No -- so I might just skip Season 2 in favor of waiting for the DVD (if it ever comes).

I'm pumped! I love this show - it's certainly a guilty pleasure ...

It's a decent enough show... the character of Don makes the show.. he's the whole reason to watch (IMHO), the actor who plays him turns in a phenomenal performance and you completely buy it.

I just watched Season 1 last week and thought it was interesting. I'll be there for season 2.

It's a decent enough show... the character of Don makes the show.. he's the whole reason to watch (IMHO), the actor who plays him turns in a phenomenal performance and you completely buy it.

I just watched Season 1 last week and thought it was interesting. I'll be there for season 2.

I gotta agree with you on that - Don is quite a complex character and Ian Hart does a superb job portraying him.

This season is shortened (7 episodes) but hopefully it'll get enough viewers and buzz that they renew it for a third.
