Batman Animated Series (1992) continuity

Does anyone know the order in which Batman the Animated Series should be watched? I tried following production order (as per the order on the DVD) but that doesn't work. I tried the order of "first aired" and Robin shows up out of nowhere in Fear of Victory. Help!!!

Ya they just had Robin here and there as far as the episodes he was in. They do tell his origin a bit later on in a two-part episode. Production Order FTW.

B:TAS begins the story of Batman after Robin was already part of the team. While Robin may only appear sometimes, that's just the nature of his sidekick duties and not a continuity problem. Flashbacks in the first movie (MotP) and a later two-parter explain (respectively) Batman's and Robin's origins. The order on the DVDs for all the series is adequate for viewing purposes, though the B:TAS (and TNBA) DVDs are the only ones to have the episode order flawless.

Personally, I watch the series in this order (with the episode order as on the DVDs, excluding a possible mix-up on the upcoming JLU S1 DVD set):

B:TAS episodes 1-65
Mask of The Phantasm
B:TAS episodes 66-85
Subzero
S:TAS
TNBA
Mystery of Batwoman
BB
Return of the Joker
TZP
JL
JLU

It's not perfect, but it's easy to follow and won't have any major problems.

So I have a couple of questions. I've only seen Justice League so far and I was looking for a viewing order to go back and watch all these series. This was very helpful, but what is:

TNBA - SEASON FOUR
Sins of the Father
Identity Crisis

Also, of all the single disc releases (like Mystery of the Batwoman, Return of the Joker, etc.), which ones are not included on the season sets and need to bought seperately?

TNBA = The New Batman Adventures (WB name) aka Batman: Gotham Knights (the original, creator-approved name of the show), the continuation of BTAS by The WB with all the original cast & crew. It is Vol. 4 of the 4 volume BTAS set released by WBHV.

The movies are not included in the set. They are:

Mask of the Phantasm (Theatrical Release)
Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (Direct to Video)
Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest (in reality, 3 eps of Superman: TAS also available in Vol. 2 of that collection)
Return of the Joker: Uncut Version (Direct to DVD, part of Batman Beyond continuity)
Mystery of the Batwoman (Direct to DVD)
