This might be old news to you, but I couldn't seem to find a thread about it. Toshiba recently announced their first European HD-DVD players, the HD-E1 and HD-XE1. You can find a pdf with the specs here: http://www.hddvdprg.com/press/pdf/060904E.pdf
Some highlights: HDMI 1.3 and 1080p resolution. Also they'll switch from the current chip to the Intel Core Duo now used in Mac notebooks (this according to avsforum). To say that I'm tempted would be an understatement.....
