Re: Ace Ventura Deluxe Double Feature - 9/5
YES! I can't wait. I've waited for so long to get these in anamorphic widescreen! I remember reading in the Warner chat that these were coming. Same goes for anamorphic versions of the "Grumpy Old Men" films. Can't wait for those either!

Awwww.....do I HAVE to get the second one too?
That's okay...as long as I finally have the original in anamorphic widescreen, I'll consider the second one as one of the extra features. Maybe I'll just consider it an easter egg and not look for it in the set.

Disappointing special features, I have to say. Why aren't all the deleted scenes from the first movie included? The network version apparently had a number of added scenes.

I watched "Ace" on TBS a few months back and saw the new scenes. It came quite unexpectedly and frankly threw me for a loop. lol Although I wouldn't want them integrated into the movie itself (killed the flow of the film IMO), it would've been nice to see them as deleted scenes on the new DVD. Regardless, we're finally getting "Ace" in widescreen, so I'll stop nitpicking.

Also, I must be in the minority here, but I quite enjoyed the second film. I found it to be pure mindless fun. Especially the part where he's trying to get out of the mechanical rhinoceros. All the while, the family looking on thinks it's real (and giving birth). I busted a gut. lol Needless to say, I'm looking forward to both of these.

How can it be a repackaging when both discs have been remastered?

So does that mean the second one is widescreen as well? It says it for the first but not the second.

However, now I'm preparing for the awful cover art.

Sweet; been waiting forever to get the first one.
Kind of bittersweet now that HD is here though.
If I buy, I know I'll just be re-buying in the near future.
Maybe they'll save the deleted scenes from PD or a branching version for a HD release. Quite disappointing they're not included on this one.
Haha. The cover art reminds me that I used to carry in my wallet the business card that came with the VHS.

Depends... If these discs come from new masters, then the eventual HD releases may not take as long
Man, an hour wasted on this sig! Thanks, Toshiba! :p
