I hear MacDonald's makes a mean burger.
Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
That place cannot be real. When I was looking at franchise info there was a section talking about the "pretty girls" and ity started by saying "What? Are You gay?" kinda make me think this is just a fake websiteRe: The Best Burger Place EVER
five guys is average, but only because they flat griddle them instead of flame grilled.burgers are much better on a flame.
right up the rd we have a "cheeburger, cheeburger" opening.
wonder what that will be.
Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
I like Fuddruckers, Back Yard Burgers are fine, and Whataburger fills me up for cheap. Gonna try a kinda new place here called Steak and Shake...see what thats about.Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

Yeah it does. Glad to see it not become hooters.
Best burger I have ever had is at a place called The Burger Barn in western Kansas. For a while, they jokingly called themselves "The Flesh Barn"
But they have a deal with a local slaughterhouse, and have a big advertisement in front "Our beef is straight from our home town". Great atmosphere, great burgers, and you can go out and look straight up at the sky and see.. the sky.

I once drove by the Fuddruckers near me and I don't know if it was a prank or vandalism or purely coincidental but the lights on the "U, D, D, R" were out and you can figure out what it reads after that!I like Fuddruckers except it is impossible to hear your name being called, kind of like the NYC subway problem. Articulate! !
I haven't been there in quite some time though..Jay

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
A few comments:Fuddruckers: I'm not sure why this place is so popular. I personally don't think they are anything special. If 5 guys is worse than Fuddruckers then ....
I personally prefer Red Robin if I want a "gourmet burger" which I consider Fuddruckers to be.
In-N-out: Must be a cult thing because it's nothing special for fast food. The burger joints I'm talking about that really are good are not fast food. Best Fast food burger? sure I can believe that. Best Burger? No.
Whattaburger is not bad for fast food but nothing special. If you want them, head to Corpus Christi and I swear they have 36 of them within a 5 mile radius
I know i'm exaggerating but it seems like there is one everywhere kind of like Quik Trip is here.| Gonna try a kinda new place here called Steak and Shake...see what thats about. |
Get a shake and skip the burger and fries. The biggest thing about S&S was it was open 24 hrs unlike ours which isn't.
To me nothing beats a pub burger.
Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Been a fan of Steak and Shake for years but there burgers aren't anything special. Better than a fast food joint but that's about it. It's all about the shakes and especially the chili at S&S for me. Big fan of their chili. Went there a lot with friends back in the day as it was one of only two places open 24 hours in our small town.A friend raved about Cheeburger, Cheeburger. My wife and I went and neither one of us cared for it. It is one of those places that has a deal where if you eat some giant-sized burger you get your picture on the wall of fame.
I do like Fuddruckers, the burgers are good, but I think they have the best buns since they're baked onsite unlike most places.
There was this English pub in downtown St. Louis I went to that had very good burgers but you better not have any kind of problem with salt. I've never seen that much salt put on meat before.
But THE St. Louis burger joint is Carl's Drive-In. It's this tiny place with no tables and only bar-style seating for maybe 14-16 people and it's almost always packed around mealtimes. I haven't been able to eat there my last 4 visits because we keep going at the wrong times and my friends don't want to wait. Top-notch burgers, fries, chili, and you can get root beer from this giant keg they have in the middle of the restaurant. If I don't get to eat there next weekend I'm going to flip.

I like Fuddrucker's, but haven't been in a long time. Steak and Shake's hamburgers are about as thin as can be. I think they're thinner than McDonald's patties. They don't taste terrible, but they're nothing to write home about. On the other hand, I do like their skinny little fries. They aren't wonderful, either, but they do me just fine. Had to order a second order last time I was in.Re: The Best Burger Place EVER

I like In-n-Out for one good reason: they have by far the best hamburger for a true fast-food place.

The nice thing about Fuddruckers is that some of them have their own butchers right in the building. Talk about fresh meat.Philip Hamm

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Are there any good burgers left that weigh less than 8oz.? Yes, some of burgers look good, but who can eat all that?"Did you know that more people are murdered at 92 degrees Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easy-going, over 92 and it's too hot to move, but just 92, people get irritable."
Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Damn, I want a burger now. And it's 10:30 PM.Cheeburger Cheeburger is very good, but Five Guys is the frickin' bomb. It's the bomb dot com. I am so very happy that Five Guys has expanded down to Richmond over the past year.
Crap. Now I need to go to Five Guys tomorrow.

I realize this doesn't help anyone not in Chicago, but this little place on the north side, Moody's Pub, has been consistently voted one of the best burgers in Chicago with the Moody Bleu, which is a great-tasting burger made better by a gigantic glop of real bleu cheese. They are worth killing for. The fries are great too, and the atmosphere — patio outside, dim interior lit by fireplaces — is nice too.Joel

Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Just back from a weekend in LA—I stopped on the way to the LAX and had a burger at In and Out. Very good as fast (or I suppose here, quick) food goes—but nothing that I’m going to miss by not living in LA.Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Even as a L.A. resident; I don't care much for In n' Out. Mid-westerners seem to lose their f...in' minds on the place. The patties are so dinky.Joel, yeah I was going to suggest a local place too. For locals Coach's in Seal Beach is damn good. There's not much to do in Seal Beach but there are some fine places to eat.
Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
Five Guys is outrageously good. I am slightly nervous now that they have opened one close to my apartment, because I am afraid I'll eat them all the time. (And now kind of want some? Argh.)Re: The Best Burger Place EVER
I just looked online and found out there is a Five Guys just down the road from me at the local mall. I'll have to give them a try sometime.Another place I like is Ted's Montana Grill. Their burgers come in your choice of beef or bison. I go for the bison myself. And if you get a burger to go it comes in separate "hot" and "cold" boxes for the burger and the bun/lettuce/tomato/etc so no soggy bun when you get home.

Found a joint in Olympia called Charlies and had one of their DMC burgers. Pretty damn good, but I still crave that double Whataburger. Thankfully, I'll be going to Texas later this summer. Finally will get my fix!
