I had around 84 PM's stored in the in & out boxes until I deleted them all and, until I went back to the PM page, it said 0.....now after re-entering the page it says:

even though I erased them all.

EDIT: ok, I realised that I had not erased my sent messages so I did this and now the count is 0....however I should mention that none of the saved messages had any text aside from sig quotes and topic heading.

My account also says "Unread 65535" but my Inbox lists "0" PMs.

I tried to PM two moderators just now about a thread I posted in the wrong forum (it's in the audio/video forum), but got a message saying both their inboxes were too full.

Sunspots? Aliens? Timothy Leary's ghost?

I also get this. When I got to the home page, I got a PM alert. When I go to my PM menu, it's not there.

I'm still kinda curious about the old PMs, too. They probably still "exist" somewhere...because when we reverted back to the old software after the first attempt at an upgrade all our old PMs came back, too!

I would simply delete all my old PMs...but I'm just waiting to hear from Parker that there's no way we can regain those old PMs from before the upgrade.

I like the new feature to download all PMs into xml, csv or text. Wish it was available before!

In the meantime, I continue to have 65,527 unread private messages. (or a "real" total of 507).

Check the "Messages: xxx" box at the top right of the message list and then choose "Mark as read" from the pulldown menu in the lower right of the PM list. Click "Go" and it will mark all messages as read and reset your totals correctly.

Gone forever? Or, maybe available at a later date? If I know I'm never getting them back, I'll just clean out all these empty PMs.

Except...when I click on the link it takes me to a page with the HTF logo in the upper left, a banner ad, and the small-print copyright info on the bottom. That's all.

Will we have to log out of the current software to accomplish this?

You had a bunch of older messages that were still marked as unread. I marked them all as read so the blinking envelope will stop and you can go forward from here.
