I'd definitely buy "Howard the Duck". I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid. Sure it's bad, but in the same breath, it's a real nostalgia kick. I currently own the VHS and have watched it from time to time. I'd gladly upgrade if it were to ever become available. For the record, I wouldn't say no to "The Wizard" starring Fred Savage either. Another fun film from my youth.

Howard the Duck is a special film for me...it's the very first movie that I ever rented back in 87 when we got out first VCR.
Needless to say i'd snap this up on DVD in a heartbeat!

Still love how the FX team pulled off Howard himself, a brilliant combonation of man-in-suit and animatronics for his face, with the exception of Kong, Gollum and Yoda, Howard was much more believable than a lot of the CGI that we get now.

Howard...

Yeah, Howard's judged unfairly a lot, i'm sure if some of the naysayers gave the film a shot they just might like it in spite of themselves.

What do you suppose it would take to get Tim Robbins to even admit he was in this film let alone do a commentary for it?

That could be a special feature for the dvd, one that concentrates on Robbins' involvement, they could call it
The Howard Redemption.

Sadly, if we did get a commentary, it will be without Richard Kylie, the man who gave voice to Howard.

You know, at this point they could call it the "Kiss my Ass" Edition and I wouldn't care, I just want the movie in it's OAR on dvd.

Thanks, John, although you didn't catch my site at it's best, I recently upgraded my audio system and projector and I removed several paragraphs of text and pics from the site, I need to get crackin' on updating it. :b
Walter, thanks for the correction, all these years I walked arond thinking that Kiley was the voice of Howard. Nice to kow that the actual voice is still with us for a possible, albeit unlikely, commentary.

So you wouldn’t even consider an SDDS 8 soundtrack, and one million watts of THX power!?

Well...
As all know... Lucas's track record for releasing dvd's of some of his less than successful films is always a no - go....
As much as I await HOWARD to arrive on DVD, I sit here wishing for an uncut version of TWICE UPON A TIME also...
I will have to sit with my pan & scan "HOWARD" and my PG version of "TWICE" on laserdisc until the movie god chooses to bless these with a release.
