This news upsets me, I mean talk about a studio that's not even
TRYING to hide the fact that they are manipulating you like a puppet.

They're not manipulating me, just because I love
Titanic doesn't mean that i'm a helpless fish who will bite at every piece of bate presented to me by giving them 20+ more dollars of my money just a couple of weeks later.

DavisDVD has a mention of this about halfway down on their news page: http://www.davisdvd.com/news/news.html. Nothing about it being exclusive to any one retailer.

Yeah, but in the last few days, it's jumped from a sales ranking in the mid-800s to the mid-400s, so it's clear there's an audience for this (I'm one of them). I really hope it's a DVDEmpire exclusive, but I'm much more inclined to think those of us who've gone without for 2 weeks waiting for this bad boy are pissin' in the wind.

For those of you still holding out for this release (like myself), I just received the following e-mail which seems to indicate the release is the real deal:
"We have just been informed by the studio that the
release date for 'Titanic (Limited Edition Gift Set With Coin & Film Cell)' has been changed to 11-15-2005.
Your order has been kept in place and will be processed normally. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
The week-long delay is unfortunate but, hey, at least it wasn't "we've just been informed by the studio that this release was a bunch of made-up B.S."...

DVDEmpire, as prior posts should have made clear.

They didn't. A simple "from DVD Empire" would have sufficed.

Much more tender crowd here than at DVDTalk, it seems...
