Does anyone know if this unit(16-3499) will work with Charter Cable in the Midwest and if so do you set up the scan with Standard, IRC, HRC. Thanks in advance.

Hmm their product literature is not so clear....

It states ATSC tuner only, but then says you can get HDTV from cable? I can assure you that if it is an ATSC tuner only, it will not work with cable at all. I know of zero cable companies that output ATSC. They are all QAM.

It will work if - and it's a pretty big if - your cable company delivers some HD channels "in the clear" - in other words, without "conditional access"/encryption.

Actually it would work fine if the Cable system uses 8VSB and not encrypted, but the problem is that almost every system is QAM modulated. From what I've read, Comcast is QAM nationwide.
