For most of September, the price at the corner store nearest my home was $2.71.  After weeks at that price, it dropped to $2.67, then $2.63 and then a week or so ago to $2.57.  Hallelujah!

A couple of days ago, it jumped right back up to $2.67.

Other stations in the area where down in the low $2.50s and even $2.40s.  This, though, is the station I drive by every single day (in upstate NY).

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

We're still about $2.60. My mental pocketbook says every week we're closer to $2.50 than $4.00 is a good week for me :)

Agree completely, except my brain puts that acceptable range at being closer to $2.25 than $3.00.  I liked the direction prices were inching before this recent spike.

The last time I was in Buffalo. gas prices were circa 19 cents a gallan! - that was circa in the 60s - I assume it is more now! I live in germany and don't need a car!Munich transportation system is very good and train travel is very good. It is possible to go by train from Munich and Vienna for circa 29 Euros (about $41).I believe super ( no reguler) is circa 1.31 Euros/liter. In Austria it is about 20 cent less. Switzerland is slight cheaper than Austria.

Now that same station jumped (three days after the above post) to $2.83!    A 16-cent jump from breakfast to lunch.

This is getting ugly...fast!
