Batman Begins' sequel: The Dark Knight (Merged)

You left out Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine!!

Pretty much everyone knows them.

I'd say BB had a star-studded cast, not all-star, but star-studded seems the perfect description.

I'd say Morgan Freeman is the most well-known. I can guarantee you my mother has heard of Katie Holmes because of all the talk a few months ago, but I doubt if she would know her if they just showed her on TV without identifying her. Most everyone knows Freeman, though.

I doubt if they'll go with Clooney for anything, or at least that's my hope. I can't stand the guy.

Bring back Jack!! Haha naw...Jim carrey? nooo.

We need a sadistic Joker...in his 30's.

Hard role to fill.

Dark Knight Returns could be, done, in 10 years with Bale...I say they sign him to that now haha.

Bale would have to wait alot longer than 10 years to do DKR. I think Clint Eastwood would be the perfect DKR Bruce Wayne/Batman

Eastwood is 75!!

He's in pretty good shape for an old man, though.

Harrison Ford would be an interesting old super-hero, but honestly I don't know that he's any more physical than Eastwood these days even though he's (only) 63.

Heck, wait a while and let Dolph Lundgren have his due. He can work on completely dropping the accent.

Um....no.

Eastwood would have been perfect 10 or 15 years ago. His voice is just right. (For Batman at least.)

I think Batman is in his 50's in DKR.

Yea, Eastwood from his Unforgiven era would've been perfect. I can just picture his gravel voice spitting out lines from DKR.

If any seventy-five year old could sell the part, it'd be Eastwood...

I thought Clint would have been a good Bruce/Bats in DKR about the time he filmed Heartbreak Ridge.

I think Crispin Glover would be ideal as the Joker.

Glover would be a nice choice. He is tall, thin and can be very evil.

Glover as the body of the Joker but I would like to hear Hamill as the voice. As long as it doesn't look like a voice over.

This person should play The Joker!

Yikes!!

The look is perfect but I think the voice might be a bit off. Perfect candidate for the Mark Hamill voice over.

I'm not sure if Crispin Glover can act but he's another candidate that has the right look. Neve seen the smile though.

Check out River's Edge & Willard - very good performances from Glover.

Can't forget probably his most famous role as George McFly in "Back to the Future".

My vote is for Adrien Brody. Terrific actor, and he has a very animated face. Plus he's still very young, so if Warner Bros. wanted to bring the Joker back for another Batman film beyond the next one, they could do that.

And I think he's flat out a better actor than Crispin Glover. He could take this character to levels of psychotic complexity and not just be "crazy evil". Plus Brody as an Oscar winner is more of a "name" than Glover, and the Warner Bros. suits would probably prefer that, not to mention I think Nolan would prefer that as well. He's one of the best young actors in Hollywood, but he's not too "big" either, so it would be in line with the rest of the Nolan Batman cast.

I actually didn't like The Joker all that much in the animated series, I think they could do something darker and more twisted for the BB sequel.

Here are some pics. If you watch "The Jacket", you'll see more of Brody's "crazy grin" but this is the only pic I could fine online of him grinning. He has the perfect hair too.

Come to think of it, his Jacket co-star, Kierra Knightley wouldn't be a bad Harley Quinn ...

Brody was good in a psychotic nutty way in "The Village". Not a bad choice.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Actually, I can see Brody in the role too. I still like the idea of Glover though!

As for Kierra Knightley - she's extremely pretty but I'm not convinced she's all that great an actress. Haven't seen The Jacket yet, though.

Brody would be good.

Paul Bettany has been mentioned - I think he would be an excellent choice.

Harley is far more curvaceous than Kiera. If Nolan & Co. were to use the character (and I'm wondering if using HQ in a live action version of Batman wouldn't up the camp factor to near Batman and Robin levels), I'd rather see a very hot but acting-wise talented actress in her mid-20s play her. It's late, so I'm blanking out on examples...

I seriously, seriously doubt that Harley Quinn will make an appearence in this partiuclar Batman franchise. However, if I had to pick somebody, Brittany Murphy = Harley Quinn. It's pretty obvious if you've seen her in 'Sin City.'

I place my vote for a new Joker on Faye Dunaway. I seriously would consider her after my initial reaction to her Joan Crawford transformation reveal – I thought: she looks like a Batman villain and, she does.

Charles Roven is talking more about the sequel

http://www.suntimes.com/output/movie...ftr-bat22.html

Quote:
"We really got full use out of converting Chicago into Gotham for 'Batman Begins,' " Roven adds. "It was a very easy process because you have the fantastic architecture."

Quote:
As for the status of this sequel, Roven says, "It's up to [director] Chris Nolan and his schedule. He wants to make another movie first."

This is good news that Nolan is returning

Whoever plays The Joker needs to look the part of a pathetic loser (pre-Joker) from the Killing Joke story who has trouble keeping a job doing stand-up comedy because he can't remember the punch lines. You'll want to feel sorry for him at the same time and fear him when he transforms into Joker. Yeah, Crispin Glover would fit the part just fine.

doesn't seem like anyone is discussing this here yet, but a couple of actors have tested for the role of the Joker so far according to several sources.
they are Lachey Hulme and Paul Bettany.

Lachey had been discussed before as being on someones wish list, but this is the first i'm hearing of Bettany (for those unfamiliar with the name he played Russell Crowe's 'friend' in Beautiful Mind and starred opposite Kirsten Dunst in some Tennis movie last year). the more i mull PB over in my mind, the more interesting i find that idea- and in general i'm really stoked that there seems to be the same mindset in place so far for the follow up- No mentions of Johnny Depp or Robin Williams or Adrien Brody, or any other 'It' star of the moment, just solid, interesting, still flying under the radar, character actors-YEAH!

oh, and that's not the offical title of the film, just for thread purposes.

Maybe we could get Bettany's wife to play the next incarnation of Catwoman...
