Yeah, I would like to see the second part of that one. I wonder if they will show new Kolchak and classic Kolchak back to back on Sci-Fi....no, that would already be beating a dead horse, wouldn't it?!

How could the show have a mythology, it only lasted 8 or 9 episodes!

As I recall, it was building towards something with a monster that had killed Kolchak's wife and was not only causing new trouble, but was somehow connected to other stuff he found. I don't care enough to even click the link this many years later, though. Too bad he couldn't have gotten permission to hitch the modern Kolchak to Supernatural. They could have investigated what was going on with that.
