I don't think the writers gave the people of the fleet enough time to truly revolt against martial law. It was as if Tigh declared martial law, then BAM he has a revolt on his hand. In real life, I think the people would actually have to suffer as a result of martial law in order for protests to begin.
I think you underestimate the passion with which people will embrace their preferred political way of life.
But if that's not enough, remember that the Colonel not only declared martial law, he did so after allowing the Twelve learn that their Madame President is a prophesied religious leader as well, at least in their eyes. A leader foretold of in scriptures, dying at that... What true believer would allow her to languish in a prison when her days are so numbered? She should be out fulfilling scripture! Wait before revolting? Not on your life.

Last episode was excellent. Loved the tension buildup in this season 2 and the revelations that internal conflicts based on stubborness, pride, greed, prejudice are destroying the fleet from the inside. We're not learning much about the cylons...but that will come. Thanks Ron Moore for turning down the titilation factor and Number Sex...we're getting some great scifi drama.
So did cyclon Cally shut up blabbermouth cylon Boomer???

Great episode - great series!
Did I miss something? Did Baltar ever report his findings to anyone? That is, does anyone else know what he learned from Boomer?

Anyone else noticing the similarities between Number Sex's influence on Baltar and Tigh's manipulative little nightmare of a wife?
Yes, and that's one good reason many of us suspect she's a toaster. However, I agree with Mark that it would be quite a twist if it turned out that she were simply a manipulative and thus destructive woman.

For me it would be quite a twist if she was a toaster.
I guess it just depends on how you look at it. That's what makes this show so great, most of the standard lines for good/evil etc are blurred.

I think making her a toaster would make the character duller & her actions too 'predictable'. By making her just a plain vindicitive, destructive woman, it makes her character
much more of a comparision to the toasters & shows some of the flaws in humanity.

We haven't seen anything that tells us that Cylons have been specifically made to look like anyone. They look human, but have they replaced humans? Was there ever a human Boomer?
Beyond that, we also have no evidence that Cylons are able to steal the memories of humans. At best, if they can make a Cylon look like any given human, they'd have to capture that human, then use torture to get memories. There's no way to get a complete picture of a person's memories that way.
For those who think Ms. Tigh may be a Cylon, how far back do you think she was replaced? XO Tigh may be out of it a bit, but I tend to think he'd notice a woman who isn't his wife, even if she looked and sounded like his wife. I wouldn't bet a paycheck on it, but that's my take at this point.

Never heard any of the podcasts, but they do sound interesting. I wonder if they get transcribed anywhere.
FYI, you don't need an iPod to listen to these "podcasts." The Sci-Fi Channel
website also makes them available as downloadable MP3 files. I've just been putting the commentaries on my laptop, carrying the laptop into the TV room, and listening to them that way.
