Someone on the "This Is Who We Are" forums cites an inside source with a September 6 release date but I would take that with a grain of salt. I think we'll see this by the end of the summer as well.

Well, for what it's worth, one of the "This Is Who We Are" moderators claims that they got confirmation on the September 6 release date through a source at Fox UK who was able to confirm the date through their connections with Fox's American branch.

Actually, I got a source in the USA saying September 6th (the source was right about Roswell Season 3 before it was announced by FOX). It's not official until FOX announces it. So release dates can change until FOX makes an announcement.
Also I am one of the moderators at "This Is Who We Are".

Fox hasn't released any sort of official announcement but amazon.com is taking preorders with the September 6th release date and thedigitalbits is reporting a September release as well, although they list it as September 3rd which is undoubtedly a typo because that's a Saturday. In any case, it'll be a relief to be able to own the final season of Ten Thirteen-produced television that is as-yet-unavailable on DVD. My Frank Blacktion Figure is doing the happy dance.

I saw that, too, and it makes no mention of coming from an official Fox source. I believe it's legit but I don't think Fox has put out an actual press release. I expect one in the next couple of days. EDIT: thedigitalbits says their source is an official Fox announcement.

This is likely part of the reason why the show is being released on September 6. Both "Lost" and "Millennium" feature Terry O'Quinn.

It came from the Fox press site - the same place we get 95% of our Fox news from.

The response to the cover art on the "This Is Who We Are" message board is pretty negative. Not only do they say that the image comes from an unremarkable episode, they say that the image itself is not even that important within the episode, making it an abitrary choice. I'm not familiar at all with the third season (I've gotten into all the Ten Thirteen productions on DVD) but based on the fact that the primary image on the Season 2 packaging came from "A Single Blade of Grass", which was widely regarded as the worst episode of the season, shows that Fox doesn't really understand the show. It doesn't really matter to me. I'm not the type of person that gets upset over cover art. I'm just happy that the overall design is consistant with that of Seasons 1 and 2. After the dual-sided 3-disc release of "The Lone Gunmen" I feared that Fox would try something similar with "Millennium" and we'd have a super-skinny box with just 2 or 3 slimline cases.

If you compare the side of the case to the previous two it definitely looks like it's the same width, with the same spacing between the lettering, the oroborus and the Fox logo and ethe edges of the spine. I don't think they're gonna change it. On one hand they made a change between "King of the Hill" seasons but all "Simpsons" seasons have kept the same packaging style even though Fox tends to use the slim cases on all of their TV shows on DVD. Anyways, I wonder if they're ever going to release the 18-disc box set like they did in other regions. I wouldn't be interested, I already bought the first two, I'm just curious.

We have just over a month until the release. I did search for any reviews for the R1 on DVD Basen and there aren't any yet, I'm surprised nobody's recieved a review copy or just gotten their hands on it early somehow. I'm fairly confident that this set will materialize by September 6 but I'm somewhat worried because Fox has never provided the American coverart after initially releasing the bilingual Canadian art (some online retailers show what looks like the art without the French text but it seems like they just pasted a black bar overi t) AND foxstore.com doesn't list it yet and foxhome.com/millennium is still advertising Season 2 as a "preorder", which is sort of alarming. I just wanted to revive this thread so that someone will put my mind at ease as soon as someone gets their hand on Season 3 in Region 1.

Arghh! Foxtvdvd.com has a "Coming Soon" list that goes through the end of the year (they list the "Family Guy" volume 3 release on 11/29) yet there is no mention of "Millennium" Season 3 on September 6. I'm really starting to worry about this, their chronological listing goes from "Simpsons" Season 6 on 8/16 to "Pretender" Season 2 on 9/13. Does anyone know of any other Fox TV releases that are coming out that aren't included on that list? I'd like to think that "Millennium" just wasn't included because it's more obscure than the rest but, c'mon, it includes "Pretender" and "Point Pleasant". I'm sure I'm just being paranoid but at the very least, it doesn't look like Fox is putting any promotion behind this disc whatsoever. You'd think they'd have some information on their website, not to mention the ability to buy the thing.

Yeah, I think my concern is somewhat reasonable given the evidence and the fact that, if released on September 6, there will be a 9-month space between releases as opposed to the usual 6. However, on the bright side, Fox's approach to season 3 of "Millennium" is probably something like this:
"the DVD's are done, we already released them in the UK. All we need to do is re-package them to match the American versions and the people that bought the first two will buy it, so we don't have to support it in any way".

Well, FoxStore.com finally has it, which means Fox has actually acknowledged the fact that they're supposed to be releasing it in less than a month, although Foxhome.com/millennium is still hilariously outdated. The reviews should be showing up any time now, if they bothered to send out review copies, that is.

foxhome.com/millennium has been updated (with the 9.06.05 release date), there are a few clips from the documentary. The coverart is still bilingual, I hope that's not the case when the set is actually released but a few French words aren't gonna stop me from buying it.

Yeah, I am waiting for FOX to send out the review copies. They were pretty good getting review copies for season one very early. I am glad they released the show to DVD. Millennium fans can rejoice when season 3 is out.
