Place I would never work....

Just watching CSI. The crime was at a Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Coupled with just watching the remake for the House on Haunted Hill. Those places just freak me out and I would never work there.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Actually, Todd, the absolute worst job would be cleaning up crime scenes. Murdered children and shotgun suicides were the hardest for even the most hardened professionals. I can't imagine having to face that gore each day. Also, I would never work at a morgue - too many zombie movies have made me paranoid of corpses.

I once saw an ad for a janitor position at an adult bookstore...

Well, now that I think of it, the asylum would still be worse because there'd be that fluid plus all the others.

Thanks for the photo Jimi! Scary is in the mind of the beholder I guess, and this historic bit of frozen music is the work of the legendary Henry Hobson Richardson. When built it was called an asylum, now it's,"The Twin Towers of the Richardson Complex at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center."

Sorry to get off thread but a wonderful gothic building will do that to me.

While we're on the drifing subject of old psychiatric hospitals..Here's one in NJ that has made Weird NJ among others... It's not in use anymore and is rotting away and kind of in the middle of being razed by NJ:

Wow.. i forgot about this thread.. yes. The H.H. Richardson complex, unfortunatly a few weeks ago there was a lightning strike that started a fire and they are now talking about razing one of the smaller buildings in the complex.

Buffalo has a wealth of buildings like this.
Heres a shot of city hall.

Did they intentionally design those buildings to scare the crap out of people?

Other than physical dangers (such as rotted floorboards, unsafe wiring, collapsing walls, etc.), what's scary about a building?

I know many older prison buildings were designed to be intimidating. I don't know why a psychiatric hospital would be designed that way, though.
