Any chance we could keep a woot thread going?

Today, 4-13-2005, there is an InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 LCD Projector that, at this moment is still available for $1199.99!

Good suggestion Henry.

In the past couple of weeks, Woot has had the ScreenPlay 4800, the 4805, and now the 5000. (Note: This ScreenPlay is Infocus factory refurbished and comes with a 90-day Infocus warranty). Hopefully Woot will continue the deals on additional HT items.

I've been contemplating a FP for quite some time and just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. I wanted 1280x720 at a minimum and my short list contained the Panasonic AE700 and the Sanyo Z3 - but both are in the $1,800 to $2,000 range including shipping and tax (and after MIR on the AE700). I just couldn't pass up the ScreenPlay 5000 at this price-point from Woot for my first FP.

Did anyone else get in on this deal?

Sweet. Henry, you started it, now you gotta come back each night at midnight or when you wake up and update the first post with what they're selling. Then you must keep a list

Look out, Henry! This is a tough room. Very demanding.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

If I was up until midnight each and every Sun-Thur night, I'd do it. Generally I wake up at 6 or 7, and sometimes WOOT is sold out by then...

"What happened" is, we got the answer to Henry's initial question, I guess.

I bought the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 (InFocus factory refurbished) on Wed April 13th.
http://forum.woot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=340
The transaction went smooth from Woot's end - the projector shipped on Fri April 15th via Fed-Ex and I received it on Tues April 19th.

Unfortunately, the projector was defective with a jammed / stuck focus ring. According to Woot:
Q: How do I return a defective product?
A: Call the manufacturer of the product you bought.

I called InFocus technical support / customer service on Wed April 20th and explained the problem. They inquired where I purchased the projector from, they asked for the serial number, and then they issued an RMA for an exchange. The projector is en route to InFocus for a replacement and I should have it in approximately 10 business days.

I am extremely relieved that Woot is selling InFocus products that are backed / warrantied by InFocus.

Sweet, I ordered one. If anyone is in Texas just read the bottom of the order form...you can enter coupon code TAXSUCKS and get $5 off your tax. Can't wait to hook this thing up, and as I said to someone on IRC, I can't wait until the day it somehow screws up and drains my car battery while I sleep.

Woot is currently in the midst of a "woot-off" -- basically, a "purple light special", in which items come and go fairly quickly -- as fast as one sells out, it's replaced with something else (not the usual "new item at mignight -- stays all day" routine).

Here's a list of the items which have already come and gone today:

http://forum.woot.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

At the moment, it looks like the coffee maker which is up now is close to selling out (progress/inventory bar down to about 1/4), so no telling what might be up next... Keep checking back, and you might run up on some quick bargains!

These events may last for 2 or 3 days, with new items coming and going as fast as folks snap 'em up. (There's a 12-hour max on anything that DOESN'T sell out.)

I've been following the 'woot-off' since midnight and these things have been selling out in under 10 minutes. Some even less. There was only that stupid RC car that stood around for an hour.

Too bad their servers keep going down, they must be getting hammered!
The End.

The "woot-off" was a bit of fast and furious fun...getting in was sorta like trying to be the "x-th" caller in a radio station contest... Some items came and went before you could even read the item description! And the "Community" section was totally blown out for most of the event.

But, looks like it's over now, so back to business as usual.
