Flipper on DVD
...Want to see your favorite show on DVD?

This one's a real jem of a show. Our family always watched it when I was a kid. I sure hope it's coming to DVD soon
"Checkmate King Two Out" Jeff Willis "Combat! A Selmur Production"
I'm a 50's - mid-90's TV/DVD Collector. One DVD show since '96: Firefly
The Fugitive/See Hollywood & Die: [Miles] "What, you think I'm crazy?!" [Kimble] "Next question."
And, of course there's the 1996 Paul Hogan / Elijah Wood remake which is also available, but I don't count that in this discussion (even though Luke Halpin, the true, consistent staple of the entire Flipper franchise, appears in it).

| Don't forget about the 90s Flipper that starred Jessica Alba before anyone knew who she was. |
That's the one I'm waiting to be released. They revamped it after the first season and Jessica was the only cast member to return for year 2. I'd love for that debut season to be released on dvd, the only one I'm interested in.
I'd like the '60s original also.

Mark, I think she was born after you stopped watching network TV, so I'm not surprised you don't know her.

Flipper star Brian Kelly died this week of pneumonia at age 73.
"Congratulations. You're still in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model."
Re: Flipper on DVD
A search of this forum for Flipper yielded very few threads.
I have 3 episodes I recorded years ago. And of course the 2 films that got pretty decent releases transfer-wise. Lets have the whole series!!

It looks like Flipper (1964-67) may be coming after all! Check out TSoDhttp://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6822
for info on an April release from MGM. Unconfirmed but it looks like this one will "swim"

Pretty good probability that I'll be getting this one if it comes out.Re: Flipper on DVD
Be nice if MGM can actually stay with one distributor for more than 3 months. Might help with their properties getting released.Re: Flipper on DVD
I'm definitely in for this series if it actually does get released. But I refuse to get excited until I see it up for pre-sale at a reputable site and/or until we get an official release date.Gary "it's been at least 20 years since I've seen this show" O.

I know the Universal DVD18s were nothing but trouble and a crap shoot, but the last two TV on DVD series that I have watched have been on double sided discs (The Big Valley and Bones) and I never had a glitch or even a stutter.

Which Flipper is being released? I thought it was the 1960s series and not the Jessica Alba remake. As much as I like to look at Jessica Alba, I want the original series.
Re: Flipper on DVD
It's the original series, not the Alba series.Gord
