Factory System

Is there a website or some easy way to figure out specs for factory car stereos. For example, I have an Eagle Vision with the Infinity sound package, and would like to know about the deck because I need to get new speakers.

Thanks,
Jeremy

just look at Infinitys lowest end speakers and thats a rough guess, usually a little lower than them but i'd say 75RMS max for larger speakers and 50RMS for 5.25s and say 20RMS max for tweets.

David is the car audio guy, Jason is the home audio so if you see a post in car audio thats David, if in Home thats more than likely Jason. Confusing isn\'t it!!! Also i hope i am allowed to put my sounddomain down on my equipment page. Its car audio but you guys might enjoy it.

I doubt the deck puts out that much power... 30-40 RMS is probably what they're being ran out right now. I wouldn't really worry too much about how much power your deck is putting out, you should be more concern with the ohms that it's being ran out. I just sold some speakers to a camaro with blown speakers, he had a monsoon system, which is a pretty good stock system, however his speakers and system was wired to a 2 ohm load, so even though he picked up some descent speakers, his power was pretty much cut to half, and his volume wasn't as loud anymore. So I would check that out first, before making a decision on your speakers.

o i rated the max RMS for speakers, as far as decks go, look no farther than 15RMS for a factory. 30-40RMS is a high rating from a HU, and if you have a add-on amp i'd say 25RMS and thats about it. If you get aftermarket speakers to run off the HU coaxials are all you'll be able to run, no components (unless they're 4in component set).
