Re: The Invaders
Extras information for The Invaders - Season 2 has been posted in a new news article on TVShowsOnDVD today - exclusive interviews, commentaries and episodic intros by Roy Thinnes. The link to the article is below:The Invaders DVD news: Extras for The Invaders - The 2nd Season | TVShowsOnDVD.com

Re: The Invaders
I'm baffled. There have been no replies to this news about information on extras in the second season set of The Invaders. Yes there's no detail but at least there's some news.

COMMENTARIES?!!!!!
You are doing such excellent work your welcomed information pretty much speaks for itself! If you regress in this discussion thread I did previously suggest the likeliness of continued introductions and more of the oncamera interview both involving Roy Thinnes as special additions. Albeit I was hoping for some second season (1967-68) tv promos.
As far as I know Roy Thinnes did not do audio commentary work for any of the individual episodes but perhaps something is now in the works.
It will be exciting to see what the reverse side of the finalized packaging design and accompanying promotional literature look like.
In response to Harry's earlier concern there may have been some natural rivalry about just which Quinn Martin produced tv series should have been released first on DVD but that is now all a moot point. With the impending completion of THE INVADERS (except for the 1995 mini-series that is) I sincerely wish that THE FUGITIVE is continued to its successful conclusion as well.

Someone close to the production of CBS/Par DVDs, who asked to remain anonymous, told me at this point there are no plans for anymore Fugitive releases. Hopefully something will change in the near future and we'll see some movement. In all candor I got the impression that this was more their opinion than some official edict, but they are in a position to know.

Re: The Invaders
If it is true that the Fugitive is dead on DVD, it's sad. The best dramatic program from the 60s killed on DVD over music issues that could have in hindsight been avoided.Controversy over music replacement has apparently killed Fugitive, Season 2, Volume 2. Interesting though how they have no qualms of releasing My Three Sons, Season 1, Volume 2. Guess there wasn't the same outrage.
I am glad that the Invaders Second Season is being released in one set, instead of a split.

Re: The Invaders
I hope my source is wrong. I passed the news along because their opinion figured to be an informed one.I second the joy for Invaders 2 being a complete set, not a split one. That's great.

TWO MORE MONTHS TO THE DAY!!!!!
I think that the (welcomed) surprise pertaining to the bonus extras for THE INVADERS - THE SECOND SEASON 7-disc set has got to be the audio commentary by THE INVADERS series producer Alan A. Armer for "The Peacemaker" (06/02/1968) which should prove to be most interesting. No real word on any tv promos included with this DVD release which is disappointing at there is at least one standard second season (1967-68) ad which seems to be readily available.
It has likely proven to be fortunate that THE INVADERS didn't last beyond two seasons as this makes it very easily handled and marketed without any uncertainty as to whether it will be completed or not (ie. the VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA).
With closure now imminent (except for the 1995 THE INVADERS four hour mini-series which will likely follow shortly) this leaves me free to focus on other likely film and tv properties for DVD release to lobby for.
Of note is the Australian-based DVD online distributor EZY DVD has once again for the third time now completely run-out-stock on THE INVADERS - THE SECOND SEASON (Region 4) 7-disc set which is extraordinary!
THE INVADERS SECOND SEASON DVD SET (Click Here).
I assume that the reverse side of the packaging design for this Region 4 DVD release is somewhat similar to the just finalized Region 1.

Re: The Invaders
I really liked Roy Thinnes' intros for the season 1 set, glad there will be more for season 2. The previous set's interview with Thinnes was great, very glad we are getting another one. I also like the cover art more this time, not sure why, I just like it
. Can't wait for January!

Re: The Invaders
I'm going to have to pick this up; I had forgotten about it until I was watching some episodes of Dark Shadows from 1966 and there were promos for THE INVADERS at the tail end. I barely remember watching the show back in the day, but I had the Big Little Book tie-in that I read over and over long after the show had left the airwaves. Glad to hear it still holds up pretty well.

THE INVADERS 'SECOND SEASON' REGION 2 DUE OUT IN FEBRUARY!!!!!
The above image came from Amazon U.K. online.
Well, no one else has picked up on this rather old news but for the benefit of any interested fans abroad THE INVADERS - THE SECOND SEASON (Region 2) 7-disc set is scheduled for release on February 09th, 2009 just about a week after the upcoming North American (Region 1) second season DVD release due out on January 27th, 2009.
At least one individual here from the U.K. expressed concern about this!
There is no mention of any special extras apart from the 26 colour hour second season (1967-68) episodes themselves.
This should now pretty much cover most sectors of the world to be sure. For my money I would get the Region 1 set with all its additional features.
At least one enthusiastic (THE) INVADERS fan has constructively kept himself occupied during the long anxious wait all these months by coming up with his own video promo:
THE INVADERS - THE SECOND SEASON 7-DISC SET (Click Here).
It is hard to believe that there are just a few scant days left to go for the Region 1 DVD release.

Re: The Invaders
It's nice to know that many of us are just days away from having this completed series in our collections. It doesn't seem all that long ago that it appeared that getting any of THE INVADERS on DVD was a hopeless case. Now we'll have fairly nicely mastered versions of all of the episodes to cherish well into the future and revisit again and again.

All I can say is.... got my copy today! Looks to be a nice evening for settling down for another episode in David Vincent's continuing battle. Hope some of you receive yours shortly.

Re: The Invaders
I preordered from DD before Amazon dropped its price. DD said it shipped my set yesterday. Propbably take a week. Can't wait--and I had never seen the show until I got the first DVD set based on a recommendation.

Re: The Invaders
I envy you - and Brent even moreso.I preordered from DD as soon as they listed it and still no shipping notification.

Re: The Invaders
Mike that's odd. They charged my credit card a week ago and then five days later I got the ship notification. I regretted ordering from them after Amazon went to $24.99 and also because usually I end up in the boat you're in now--they take a while to ship.

Re: The Invaders
I ordered my set last night from Amazon. I wanted to order it before the price goes back up, they've raised the prices on DVDs just before I was to place an order many times before, and I hope they ship it early. I'm eagerly awaiting this set.

Very glad that this series is getting properly completed though - enjoy the set, David!

Re: The Invaders
R2 will probably have subs, but they shouldn't be counted as extras in this time and age.

Re: The Invaders
I usually get my Amazon orders in just 3 or 4 days, while DD can take up to 2 weeks. Don't know why. Amazon is coming from Kansas and DD from Illinois. I live in Texas. That may explain part of it.

Re: The Invaders
Amazon can be painfully slow as well especially with supersaver shipping. I ordered something through that about 5 months ago and it took them 8 days to charge my card and ship it. Yet I ordered something and paid the shipping and it was shipped outb in 24 hours.

Re: The Invaders
I finally got around to ordering THE INVADERS Season 2 through Amazon, combining it with another purchase and choosing free shipping. Both items have now already shipped, so I hope to get it on release day.I'm really looking forward to Season Two as I haven't seen most of these episodes in forty years. "The Saucer" was one of the Goodtimes VHS episodes, and that's about it. All of the others will seem fresh and new.
The guest star list looks fabulous, and I can't wait to view these practically new episodes.

This parallels my experience to a T. I recall watching "The Saucer" over and over as it was basically all I had to get my "Invaders" fix (aside from "Beach Head").

The cool coincidence about "The Saucer" is that guest stars Charles Drake and Anne Francis also guested together in another Quinn Martin show, THE FUGITIVE's "The One That Got Away".
It's been a number of years since I've watched either episode, but if I recall correctly, the characters even had similar dynamics. Wasn't he an embezzler in both shows?
