I think that the conning tower is a little too near the bow nose section of the Seaview as well but afterall it's supposed to be a symbollic abstract representation of the show.
But seriously people were dissastified with the eight windowed depiction of this fantastic futuristic submarine seen in the initial previewed box design so it just goes to show that everybody can't be pleased.
At least now we have something more tangible to go on and it does recognizably capture the true essence and stature of this classic 1960s SF tv series...and I want to place emphasis on the word stature!
To my thinking (overall) VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA (ABC 1964-68) was a much more outstanding achievement than LOST IN SPACE (CBS 1965-68) ever was and while Peter Staddon himself never specifically related his own feelings about the earlier Fox Home Entertainment release I'm sure that in the case of VOYAGE he is most definitely proud of the (grand) achievement in finally making this time honoured and immensely popular adventure series available on DVD at long last.
This discussion thread is almost 2 years in the making and it signifies a triumphant culmination of stoic dedication and (at times) hard fought perserverance in making this fervent dream a reality.
I feel that all the VOYAGE fans who (generously) contributed to this (noble) effort in (positively) expressing their earnest desire in having it made commercially available in what will prove to be I'm sure a high quality complete series home entertainment collection rightly earned their just reward.
And it is to all these hardy and conscientious souls that I (proudly) dedicate this VOYAGE discussion thread to. This (auspicious) moment belongs to you!

Bring on VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA in February 2006!
Jeff T.
