I Will Be So Glad When These "Butterfly Effect" Ads Are Gone!!

I can't tell you how many times I've scared the shit out of myself scrolling over these and forgetting about the damn broken glass sound effects, especially late at night!!! Anyone else have similar experiences?

\"Old theatres are irreplaceable. They could never be duplicated at today\'s costs - but more importantly, their spirit could not be duplicated because they remind us of a day when going to the show was a more glorious and escapist experience. I think a town\'s old theatres are the sanctuary of its...

Funny, I can't hear anything even when I run my pointer over it. When I right-click and hit rewind it just keeps repeating the glass breaking though.

The ad startled me the first time I heard it because the sound on my girlfriend's computer was cranked. Since then it hasn't bothered me because I just avoid that area with my mouse.

For a reason not worth going into, the speakers on my computer at work are always turned way up. You get the rest.

Well - There it is.

Eh, it can't be any worse than the endless ads for The Mothman Prophecies

"Did you know that more people are murdered at 92 degrees Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easy-going, over 92 and it's too hot to move, but just 92, people get irritable."

I hear it only on the main page on the big flash. There's a glass crash after several seconds.

Not a fan of ads but if they help keep HTF afloat I'll live.

I personally hate these new Flash ads floating around the web. They get ridiculously annoying quickly.

I've deleted a few sites from my favorites because they used sound ads. I used to hit these sites several times a day, and now visit once or twice a month. I can't drop HTF, but sound ads simply don't work on the Internet and undoubtedly make many angry. Pop ups are annoying, but sound ads are infuriating, at least until my heart stops pounding.

Agreed that the sounds are annoying. I have seen others where sound is optional.

Brings up another point (not to hijack this thread) that it seems there are new popups that beat common popup blockers. Frustrating!

Gotta love Avant browser and a simple button to disable all flash on a page.

Annoying flash ads, a thing of the past.

Regarding pop-ups, they don't bother me with Opera. they open in the background, I right click on the active page, and press "close all but active". They're all gone in a second.

Install Firefox. Install Adblock Extension, and just block the ad (a tab/button will appear near the ad, just click it). Normally I wouldn't block an ad on HTF, but I think this one is a worthy exception
