I liked how they had a True Lies reference.

I caught that, too. No offense to Jamie Lee, but I'd take Jen.

I missed that. What was it exactly?

When Sydney dresses up like the hooker to 'kill' the guy. She alters her dress to make it look like a hooker dress in the same way that Jamie Lee Curtis did in True Lies. And she even wets her down like JLC did too.

Oh yeah, DUH! :b

The funny thing is I noticed the reference last night but it was totally out of my head by the morning.

Now this is podracing!!!!

Season 4 is certainly looking like it has promise. The last 2 episodes have been truly excellent.

Patrick, loved Marshall's line too.

Seams like Alias Season 4 is gaining strength.

It was good to see Syd and Anna duking it out again but I do remember the action between them in season one as much better where shooting the fight sequences are concerned.

Blade Runner Voted the best Sci-Fi movie ever made.
Finally in Blu-ray to fit my budget

As others have noted, that was a LOT more like it. A couple of pages back, after the "vampire" episode, I wrote that I was afraid that Alias had jumped the shark. What a 180! 2 eps ago was very good. Last week, Anna and Sark: just awesome! I got that tingly feeling again. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Yeah, I dug this one too. Not an amazing episode but they seem to building up some steam.

Best part is that Sark is free again!

I'm glad Sydney wasn't made to look stupid when Sark escaped like she has the last 3 or 5 times.

Was Jack surprised when the stuff he injected Nadia actually worked?

Enjoyed this one too. A little disappointed they caught Anna already. I was liking the idea of a Sark Anna tag team.

Why would anything be noted on the chart? Did Jack add the medication he injected into Nadia on the chart?

Patrick,
I don't think anything was noted on the chart, but after Nadia woke up, the doctors ran some tests and discovered the drug (in apparently a very high dose) in her system.

This was much better than what they have been doing this season. I enjoy Sark and Anna being around, but I am bummed they caught Anna so quickly. Nice that Sark is free because I was wondering when we were gonna get some competition in things (besides Anna).

Is it just me or does Sidney seem off this season. Maybe Garner is disconnected from her character. Dare we say bored?

I thought the doctor was referring to the chart to determine what had happened. I'll check my recording, maybe I was zoning out by then...

10 O Clock est? Wuss

Yes he looked at the chart as it was unusual for her to wake up like that and noticed the UBER HIGH dosage of the stuff in her. Having talked to Jack about it, it was obvious whom did it.

Laine,

I've noticed the exact same thing. Jennifer Garner just doesn't seem into the role as much as she has in the previous 3 seasons and I think you could probably say the same thing about some of the other characters on the show(Vaughn, Dixon and even Marshall). Sloane and Jack are really the only ones that seem to be on their game and it's probably because they're the two best actors on the show. The last 3 episodes have been very good, but I still think the acting is a little "off" this season overall.

Damn Affleck
I agree and so do a few coworkers something is odd.

The only thing that bugged me about last night is:

Warning Spoiler! Click to show
Did Arvin really have enough time to move Nadia and her bed and replace it with another bed full of blood packs? Insider information maybe?

I'm not thrilled with this season. This week's show yet again has Sark escaping and Syd fighting the same nemesis from before. We see the same 10 or so characters interacting all the time. Last night even brought back Lauren for cryin' out loud!

Its been the same thing over and over this season; I see nothing innovative and no growth on the show. Instead, we've regressed to where Sloan is in charge of an implausibly organized group, which just happens to resemble the show in its most successful incarnation.

Seems to me that Abrams is stretched too thin with Lost and Alias and Garner has movies on her mind. I'm not feeling it at all this year.

Rewatched it and have pretty much decided that I am done with the show. I've lost interest and just can't bare to see the rest of this miserable season.

Even with Sark and Anna back it's just not really going anywhere. It's the same old crap each episode and I'm just bored.

I hope the rest of you enjoy it though and maybe I'll check back in the thread every now and then for updates.

As many here know from my earlier ramblings, I am very disappointed with this season as well. I thought things were finally back on track around episode 6, but this week's show was a major letdown. With the return of Anna and Sark last week, the stage was set for a major continuation of the Rambaldi story arc, but this week... NOTHING!

Alias is hopelessly stuck in second gear. It feels like someone at ABC issued an edict that there will be no significant plot advancement or character development of any kind allowed in season 4.

This show has become... I hate to say it...BORING! It's sad to watch a formerly great "appointment TV" show whither and die on the vine this way.

Oh, boy, do I agree. They tried to turn the clock back to season one with a few glaring errors. First, Vaughn was an office guy. I've never bought that he should be a field agent for a minute, no matter how much he bulked up. Same with Weiss, who is ridiculous as both a field agent and more importantly, as a romantic interest for Nadia.

Dixon, however, who was a dynamite field agent, and his and Syd's missions and interactions in season 1 were just great, is now the guy in the van. Marshall is used far too much. I loved the character the first year, but a little goes a long way with him.

As for Garner's lack of presence/charisma/fire, boy is it obvious, especially compared to Nadia. Every time they switch from Nadia to Syd, I'm disappointed.

And if Sloan doesn't stop with the gooey daddy stuff with Nadia and the "forgive me, I'm a good guy now" stuff with Syd, I am giving up on this show forever.

It's bad enough we still have all the same villains as season one and as of this year, all past character arcs were wiped out, but Sark and Anna?? There are no new bad people around in this terrorist-filled world? Sigh.

This show gets more and more like Buffy each episode.

1. Spike/Sark: annoying blond guy with a bad English accent who always inexplicably survives. Check.
2. Buffy/Syd: heroine who makes oh-so-serious speeches all the time. Actress who looks bored. Check.
3. Xander/Marshall: guy who used to be sort-of funny who you now want to punch in the face. Check.
4. Episodes with plots that go nowhere fast to the extent that fans of early seasons lose interest. Check.

Any more?

"Dixon has been very underused this season.

And I know this show has never been realistic but if the CIA wanted to keep an eye on Sloane why would they put him in charge instead of make him a consultant?"

Dixon? He's just pointless this year. Sloane is about the only guy who looks like he is actually a pro actor.

I haven't liked Alias from day 1, but my wife enjoys it so I dutifully watch each week. It's a guffaw-fest for me.

BTW The answer to world terrorism is to shut down all the night clubs and seedy hotels, that's where 90% of the deals are done, that allow Syd to slink in and do her one-trick schtick.

For realism, 24 is somewhat better, but check out MI 5.
