I've had the DVD-A of American Beauty for quite awhile, Lee. I think Mickey Hart did some pretty aggressive re-mixing of that album. Personally, I like it a lot. But his tact is to immerse the listener like they are actually in the band, IIRC. Hart does a video interview, available on the DVD-A, in which he discusses his mixing of Sugar Magnolia.

DVD-A: Running on Empty - Jackson Browne.
(Thanks again, Lee!)
For anyone interested, this disc is currently being found in the bargain CD section of Wal-Marts nationwide for just $5. For more information check out the recently-bumped "Running on Empty" thread in this forum.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
My local mom & pop shop was having their annual "Dads & Grads" sale and I picked up two MoFi SACDs (Foghat - Fool for the City, Marshall Crenshaw -S/T), one import SACD (Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream), and the double 10" vinyl set of Radiohead's "Kid A". I plan on celebrating Father's Day in high resolution.

Does a Diana Krall Blu-ray in lossless DTS MCH count? If so, this is my latest acquisition (a Father's Day gift).

IMO, it should....I was gonna drive over to Busted Buy and get the Stevie wonder BD today but these infernal thunder storms convinced me to stay dry and home. I was, will, post Stevie when I get it.

Oh, Paul.
It counts very highly in fact. This could be the music release of the year.

Someone must like you very much to get you that gift for Father's Day.

It looks and sounds great. I wouldn't risk my life to go out in a thunderstorm to buy it, but I might think about it for a minute or two.

It's finally quit raining, well for 2 whole days. I was just about to the point of obtaining an amphibious car. Little Stevie will have to wait. I spent the money on a pair of used LP's monday, Humble Pie's Thunderbox and Steve Marriott's S/T'ed. A Cherokee friend has warned me not to play Thunderbox lest the infernal storms will return resulting in Lake Tennessee. I played it anyhow in hopes that the hill I live on would become beachfront property. So far, it hasn't worked.

I got the Blu-ray of Jeff Beck's Live At Ronnie Scott's. I'm hot to watch it 2-nite.

If there was a DVD-A, I'd love to have one. But I don't think there is.
I was among those who rushed out upon the news to secure a copy of the 25th anniversary CD/DVD edition of Thriller. I had held it in my hands a number of times--but for whatever reason hadn't pulled the trigger. I also still have my vinyl copy. An amazing piece of work, Thriller.
