Anadonda rated a sequel?

You're kidding right?

I once stood out from the crowd. Now, I am trying desperately to get back in.

No, "Anaconda" rated a sequel. Haven't heard plans for a sequel to "Anadonda" yet.

You're kidding right?

How could he be kidding when it's been in theaters for two weeks?

It's made about $24M in two weeks. More than other high-profile films like "The Alamo" or "Around the World in 80 Days" made their entire runs.

Yeah, I eventually saw it. To be true, Anacondas was quite bad. The snakes were a step down special effects wise from Anaconda, most of the characters were pretty silly, and the dialogue was indeed very bad.

But I really liked the scene where the victims first see an Anaconda. The overused effect of the Anaconda being under the water and visible from a distance was just being used and was still effective and when it strikes, the entire cast goes apeshit screaming. I loved that scene. Everything else after that was terrible.

Also,
Warning Spoiler! Click to show
what's with not letting them keep the bag of Blood Orchids? Even the first Anaconda let them drift past their mysterious tribe to shoot some video. After I had invested so much emotionally into their tragic quest for their white whale, I felt really let down when the filmmakers let it fall down into the sexy snake orgy pit.

right, and those films are worse than Anaconda 2? Or is the publicity behind them not quite as good?

Actually, it's now rated three sequels.

However, Anaconda 3 and Anaconda 4 will be going direct-to-video via the SciFi channel. I believe A3 airs on July 26, then A4 probably in the fall. Plus, A3 stars...David Hasselhoff That automatically makes it MST3K-type material. Also stars John Rhys-Davies (who must only get work from SciFi channel lately, as he's been in a number of their films).

There's just something about a giant snake movie that makes me giggle. I re-watched the first two films last week.
