Dome:
Robotech isn't blasphemy...in fact, for many of us old-schoolers, it was what got us into anime in the first place. I'm not sure if I'd pick it up now, but I certainly acknowledge it's importance. That and the fact that I have so many other series to get, sacrifices have to be made

Thanks for the help, however, I decided not to get a movie this weekend. I've got plenty of anime I can watch.

Dome, yes! PHD does kick ass!
Also, you haven't even heard Slayer's best stuff! First things first, listen to Raining Blood, which is one of the best songs ever recorded. Then check out the following songs: Angel of Death, Postmortem, Disciple, Piece By Piece, South of Heaven, and War Ensemble.

There is only one way to fix that problem! And the solution is...
MORE SLAYER AND MORE METAL!!!!

Hmmm...kind of quiet again. Here's a question for everyone. Assuming a good script, and high production values, what anime would you like to see as a live-action film, or series of films? Assume you can get the best actors/director/etc., and that you have an unlimited budget. I for one, would like to see a LA version of Macross. With today's special effects, you could make it look very real.

Rob:
Sheesh - it took them long enough. Since I didn't pay full price for the second box (I didn't even pay for the first one

), I still feel I got my money's worth, but honestly, Geneon should have released
Fushigi Yuugi as individual disks (or just lowered the price of the box) sooner.

Probably as four disks, with a 7-6-7-6 episode count, which is what the boxed sets have. It sounds like they are just going to repackage the disks, and not create a new set of masters.

I'll second Rob's vote. Satoshi Kon is very good, and even doing a remake, I'd pay full price to see anything he's done.

We saw Tokyo Godfathers in the theater in Ann Arbor a few weeks back - I thought it was a good movie.
It is kind of a christmas movie, with definite religous overtones. Not my thing, but I always have respect for people with a lot of spiritual beliefs (whether I agree or not).
Summation:
I would say, you could call it a Funny and Heartwarming Christmas story, Japanese style. A homeless guy, a homeless transsexual, and a homeless teenage girl find an abandoned baby and try to make things right.
Some very funny parts. Worth seeing. Anime on the big screen is sweet.
Matheson- "There are probably some who'll say that by doing this, we are interfering with their culture."
Gideon - "Probably. Screw them."
